Create your own business card using Microsoft Works.
Microsoft Works comes preinstalled on many new computer systems. This software package includes a variety of programs you can use to accomplish various jobs for home or business uses. Use Microsoft Works to do things such as creating documents, tracking items, making schedules or even designing business cards. You do not have to own expensive desktop publishing software to make business cards, if your computer contains Microsoft Works. You can create business cards on Microsoft Works and then print them on your printer.
Instructions
1. Open Microsoft Works Task Launcher. Select Works Word Processor.Select Tools on the menu bar, and then click on Labels.
2. Place a checkmark next to Return address labels to copy the information from one business card to the others on the sheet. Click on OK to open the Labels Settings box.
3. Leave the selection on Avery standard under Label products. Scroll down the list available under Product Number until you locate the Avery number matching your business card paper.
4. Click on New Documents to open the business card template in Works. Click on Save As under File on the menu bar to save a copy of your Works business card.
5. Design a single business card in the space provided. Use Insert and then Picture to add pictures, your logo or clip art to the template.
6. Include your company name, address, phone number and any other contact information, such as a website or email address. Highlight and alter the font's size, color or style on any text shown on your business card, if desired.
7. Double-check all information and make any final changes to your business card. Click on File and then Print Preview to see a full page of the business cards.
8. Load your business card into your printer as directed. Click on the Print icon or the link under File on the menu bar to print your business cards.
Tips Warnings
You do not have to purchase Avery business card paper unless you want to. Most other companies selling business cardstock, list the comparable product number used by Avery that you need to select the correct template.
If you make any changes to the design of your Microsoft Works business card, remember to save your file again or you will lose the changes.
