Exhaust bathroom fan wiring

I bought a NuTone model 763RLN exhaust bathroom fan. The wire from my house in the attic has only white, black, and ground wire. The fan has two different plugs: a black for the fan and a white for the light. The black plug has three wires coming from it: black, white, and green. The white plug has only two wires coming from it: white and blue. The diagram that came with the fan is a joke and impossible to understand. What goes where? I assume the green is a ground, even though it isn't copper. What is the blue for? I have only one switch for both the fan and light. Thanks. Join the black and blue wires to black from the switch; join white to white and to the white from your switch. Green to the copper ground from your switch. Thanks I'll try that. Seems to make sense.
