Make sure the USB cord is plugged into the scanner and computer.
The HP Scanjet G3010 is a flatbed scanner, meaning it has a hinged cover that you lift to reveal the scanning glass below. You can scan multiple photos at the same time if they all fit on the scanning glass at the same time. If not, you can still scan multiple photos by cycling out the photos that are on the scanning glass until you have scanned all the photos you desire. Once the photos are scanned, you can edit the digital files before finally choosing where on the computer you want to store them.
Instructions
1. Turn on the Scanjet G3010 and the attached computer. Make sure the USB cable connecting the two devices is securely attached at both ends.
2. Open the scanner's cover and place the photos to be scanned face-down on the glass. Make sure the photos have at least 6 millimeters of space between them and that each picture is completely on the scanning glass.
3. Close the scanner's cover and press the Scan button. On the window that appears on your computer, click Picture under What Are You Scanning? Select Scan Originals From Glass and click Scan.
4. Open the scanner's lid and place any other photos you want to scan face-down on the scanning glass. Close the scanner's lid and click on Scan in the window that comes up on your computer's screen. When you are done scanning, click Done.
