Connect Hd Cable To A Tv

Setup an HDTV

Connect high-definition cable to your TV and enjoy better picture quality. High-definition cable programming is becoming more popular as high-definition televisions become less expensive. High- efinition means greater screen resolution than older, standard-definition televisions. Setting up HD cable on your TV requires the right equipment and cable service.

Instructions

1. Contact your cable service provider and request HD cable programming. HD cable channels are usually not included in standard cable service contracts.

2. Verify you have all the necessary equipment to setup and view HD cable programming. Most cable service providers include an HD cable box, HDMI cable and coaxial cable with your HD cable service contract. You must have a high-definition television to watch HD programming.

3. Connect the cable jack to the HD cable box using the coaxial cable. Attach one end of the coaxial cable to the cable jack and the other end in the "Cable In" port on the cable box.

4. Connect the HD cable box to your HDTV using the HDMI cable. Attach one end of the HDMI cable to the "HDMI Out" port on the HD box and the other end in the "HDMI In" port on the HDTV.

5. Turn on both the HD cable box and the HDTV. Using the remote, select the HDTV source to HDMI. Use the remote to select and view your HD cable programming.
