The 1997 Harley-Davidson Road King is a custom cruiser bike that is part of the company's touring models. The Road King is one of the more prestigious heavy cruisers on the market, and in 1997, Harley was producing some of the best heavy cruisers on the roads, including the Road King with its large saddle and saddle bags.

The 1997 Road King boasted an engine with a displacement of 1338 cc, or 81.64 cubic inches. The engine was a V2, four-stroke that produced 59 horsepower at 5,000 rpm. Torque was 102.00 Nm, or 75.2 ft.-lbs at 3,000 rpm. The top speed of the Road King at that time was 93.2 mph. With two valves per cylinder, an air-cooling system and a five-speed gearbox with a belt transmission, the Road King was built for the road.
