Restore a Computer Screen to Full Size
Through intentional or inadvertent changes, the computer screen and the windows contained therein can be displayed at a less than optimal size. Restoring your computer screen to full size is a fairly simple procedure that can be accomplished in a number of different ways, depending on the method that was originally used to shrink the screen. Where in doubt, attempt all of these options to restore your PC viewing area to its maximal size.
Instructions
1. Change the resolution of the screen to its maximum in cases where the screen size has been compromised due to selecting a non-native resolution. To accomplish this, right click on the desktop and select the option to "Personalize." From there, click on "Display Settings," then slide the resolution bar all the way to the right and press "Ok" to confirm your choice. This should restore your screen to its proper size.
2. Toggle with the monitor controls if you are using a CRT monitor and the size of the screen has been altered. Simply press the "Menu" key on your screen, then move through the display options until you find the options for vertical and horizontal size. Increase these as necessary using the appropriate buttons on your monitor to maximize the screen size.
3. Increase the size of the window using keyboard or mouse shortcuts if the screen size is sub-maximal due to program settings. Accomplish this by clicking on the "Maximize Window" button (between the "_" and the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the screen). Alternatively, you can also maximize the size of the screen by double clicking on the bar at the very top of the window or by using the keyboard combination of "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Break".
