Horsepower To A 2008 Mustang Gt

The Mustang is a muscle car first introduced by Ford in 1964 and still in production today. The 2008 Ford Mustang GT offers high performance with its 4.6L V-8 engine that makes 305 horsepower stock and also responds well to aftermarket modifications. Depending on the modifications you choose to install and the amount of money you are willing to invest, it is possible to achieve over 400 horsepower in the 2008 Mustang GT.

Instructions

1. Add a forced air induction system to the engine. Turbochargers and superchargers are the two types of forced air induction systems currently available, and each works in similar ways. Forced air induction systems blow a massive amount of air into the air/fuel mixture within the engine, which results in a massive horsepower increase. Forced air induction systems typically cost several thousand dollars and are a relatively involved modification. Superchargers generally produce a greater horsepower boost than turbochargers.

2. Replace the stock exhaust and headers with performance aftermarket parts. Aftermarket exhaust and header systems increase the airflow from the engine to the outside of the car which results in a substantial horsepower boost as well as a louder, more aggressive engine note.

3. Replace the stock cold air intake with a performance aftermarket cold air intake. Cold air intakes are one of the most popular aftermarket options for all cars because they are fairly inexpensive and easy to install, and in addition, they can provide a 10 to 20 horsepower boost while also improving fuel economy.

4. Tune the Mustang using a performance tuner. A tuneup can improve the horsepower of even a stock Mustang, and it also allows the Mustang to take full advantage of any aftermarket installations you have performed, maximizing the horsepower boost from other aftermarket parts.

5. Add a nitrous oxide injection system to your Mustang. Nitrous oxide systems add nitrous to the fuel mixture at the push of a button and provide a large temporary horsepower boost although it does not increase the horsepower under normal operating conditions.
