Achieve Good Hdtv Reception

There is no need to subscribe to expensive services in order to obtain an HDTV signal.

High-definition television programming is available via cable and satellite services, but these often come with a premium price tag. Instead, you can obtain local HD stations for free via an HD antenna. Once you receive a good signal with the antenna you are going to see clear HD picture and hear clear HD audio, but you need to first make sure you are capable of receiving a good HDTV reception signal.

Instructions

1. Place your HD antenna in a clear area, without any metal objects near by. The metal is going to reflect the signal away from the antenna, reducing the signal quality. If possible, place the HD antenna near an open window so it has direct access to the skyline.

2. Move any device off of the HD antenna. Many HD antennas are now flat and sit on a shelf. Placing devices and equipment on top of the antenna is just going to block out HD signals.

3. Plug the HDMI cable into the "HDMI Out" port on the antenna, then insert the free end into one of the "HDMI In" ports on the television.

4. Power on the HDTV and the HD antenna. Most HD antennas do require some sort of a power source to function. Select "HDMI" as the input option on the TV and the local HD programming now loads onto the screen with a perfect reception.
