Credit card companies and banks often offer consumers products that come with added perks and bonuses. One of the most common extras is reward points. While the value and uses of these points from vary from bank to bank and across credit card companies some, such as the CIBC Aero Classic Visa, offer some valuable potential benefits for the savvy consumer. Best of all, accumulating and redeeming these points is quick and easy.
Instructions
1. Apply for the CIBC Aero Classic Visa card. You can either do this in person at a branch or online through the CIBC Visa site. Once you've been approved for the card, it's time to start collecting points.
2. Collect points on purchases made with your CIBC Aero Classic Visa. The points you collect are Aeroplan points. You will receive one point for every two dollars that you spend on your card. Points are automatically posted to your credit card account once purchases are made.
3. Choose an item or service and redeem your points. Call the Aeroplan customer service line at 800-361-5373 or visit the Aeroplan website to browse your points and to choose an item. There are a number of products and services that can be purchased with your points --- you're not limited to travel rewards. Once you've made a choice, follow the on-screen instructions for selecting an item and purchasing it with your points.
4. Enjoy your rewards. Some items, such as travel, will be booked instantly. Others, such as gift cards or consumer products, will be mailed to you and may take several weeks to arrive.
