The dish relies on a proper connection between the receiver and TV.
The VS Max HD receiver provides high-definition satellite signal reception to your home or office. The VS Max HD receiver must be connected to your satellite dish via the included coaxial cable and to your TV via the included component cable. The assistance of a professional satellite technician is not required. Install your VS Max HD receiver yourself no matter your level of experience with satellite equipment and televisions.
Instructions
1. Locate the black, single-prong coaxial cable that extends out of the rear "OUT" port on the satellite dish's mast. This cable should be fed inside to where your VS Max HD receiver is located near your TV. Plug this cable into the "ANT IN" port on the back of the receiver.
2. Connect the VS Max HD receiver to your TV by using the included component cable. This audio/video cable is comprised of two sets of prongs, one on each end. Each prong set has one red, one green and one blue prong. Look for color-matching component ports on both the back of the TV and the VS Max HD receiver. Plug one set of prongs into the TV's ports and the other set into the receiver's ports, ensuring that the prongs are matched by color with the ports.
3. Turn on the VS Max HD receiver and the TV. Once the receiver boots, you should see a receiver menu screen appear on the TV. Use the arrow/navigation keys on your remote control to highlight the "Signal Meter" option on this menu, then press the "OK/Select" button at the center of the remote to select this option.
4. Leave a friend with the signal meter screen to assist you. Move outside to the satellite dish.
5. Begin making elevation adjustments to the dish. These are up-and-down alterations to the dish. Make a few small changes and allow the signal meter update to gauge them and update by providing the meter about 5 to 10 seconds of time between your adjustments. Your friend should report back to you every time the meter screen updates. This meter will provide real-time information to help you adjust your satellite by gauging how close it is to being pointed to the correct coordinates.
6. Begin making azimuth adjustments to the dish as well, using the signal meter to guide you. Azimuth adjustments are left/right adjustments to the dish. Continue making adjustments to the dish until the meter indicates you have reached the proper coordinates and are receiving a strong signal. This will complete your VS Max HD receiver installation.
