Gowanda's Harley Davidson events raise money for charities.
Gowanda is a New York State village 20 miles from the shore of Lake Erie. Derived from Iroquoian, Gowanda means "almost surrounded by hills." The village lies in a valley straddling Cattaraugus and Erie Counties. The surrounding hills are popular with snowboarders and skiers, and the town hosts several annual events. Pioneer Days is held at the end of May and celebrates the towns heritage, Harley Happening brings bikers to Gowanda in June and the Harvest Heritage Festival is held in September.

Relax on the shore of Lake Erie

Ellicottville is 23 miles from Gowanda, further from the lake, closer to the ski resorts. There is a 24 hour business center, a fitness center, pool and whirlpool and a storage area for your skis. Breakfast is hot and cold buffet style.

Oasis B&B is 18 miles from Gowanda, in Springville. There are four rooms, each with private baths and queen beds. The Oasis' rooms have African, German, India and Middle Eastern themes, and each has it's own unique style. Guests have a choice of a full gourmet breakfast downstairs, or may have it delivered to their room. The Oasis is 20 minutes from five ski areas, close to eight public golf courses and available for wedding parties and special events.
