The Dyna Wide Glide is Harley Davidson's most chopper-like motorcycle.
Harley Davidson began manufacturing the Wide Glide for the 1980 model year. In 1991 Harley introduced the Dyna line of motorcycles. The Wide Glide was added to the Dyna line for the 1992 model year. Harley Davidson made major upgrades to the Dyna line for the 2006 model year, and the Wide Glide got a new six-speed transmission and fuel injection. The Harley Davidson model designation was changed to FXDWGI.
Engine Specs
The 2007 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide is one of Harley's "big twins," being powered by an air-cooled twin-cylinder 96-cubic-inch (1584cc) engine. There are two valves per cylinder. The Wide Glide has Harley Davidson's Fuel System3 electronic fuel-injection system and electronic ignition.
Transmission Specs
The Dyna Wide Glide transfers power from the engine to the rear wheel via a six-speed (one down, five up) transmission and belt final drive. The clutch is hydraulic operated, and as on most motorcycles, is the wet-multiple-disc type.

Motorcycle Cruiser magazine calls the Dyna Wide Glide "about as close to a real chopper as a factory-built motorcycle dares go." The Wide Glide is built around a double-cradle steel frame. The 49-mm telescopic fork supplies front suspension, while in the rear there are two shock absorbers. Front and rear brakes are four-caliper single discs. The distinctive handlebars are 1.25-inch ape-hangers with internal wiring. The electronic speedometer is tank-mounted and includes a clock, odometer, trip meter, fuel gauge with low-fuel warning light, a low-oil-pressure warning light, and a gear indicator light.

Ground clearance on the Wide Glide is 6.2 inches, and the rider sits 28.5 inches off the ground. The dry weigh of the Wide Glide is 650.4 pounds. Fuel capacity on the Wide Glide is 5.1 gallons. The 2007 Dyna Wide Glide was available in 12 colors.
