The Compaq Presario badge can refer to either a desktop or laptop computer; the lineup has been around since the early 1990s. Despite the possible difference between computer models, the procedure for entering safe mode is the same. Compaq Presario computers are installed with Windows (the version will depend on which model your Presario is and when it was introduced), and despite the major differences between Windows operating systems, entering safe mode is the same on all of them.
Instructions
1. Click on "Start" (in Windows Vista and 7, this is a small orb on the bottom left corner of your screen), and select "Restart."
2. Press the "F8" key on your keyboard continuously (do not hold it) once your computer starts rebooting. This will redirect you to the boot menu.
3. Select "Safe Mode" using the arrow keys and press "Enter." On some systems, "Safe Mode" will be displayed with a number beside it. If so, press the corresponding number to restart in safe mode.
