Clean A Motorcycle Helmet Visor

A clean visor provides a clear view of the road.

While cleaning a motorcycle helmet's visor or face shield would appear as easy as simply wiping it down with a rag, special care must be taken to avoid damaging the coatings that protect the visor from scratches and condensation. This is especially true for the inner surface of the visor, which most helmet manufacturers coat with a special anti-fogging chemical. When done properly, cleaning a helmet's visor should only take a few minutes, but it is time well spent to provide clear vision at all times.

Instructions

1. Wet a paper towel with warm warm and place it over the outer surface of the visor. Allow the visor to soak under the paper towel, loosening the dirt and debris from its surface.

2. Remove the paper towel from the visor. Gently wipe the surface of the visor using a second moistened paper towel.

3. Apply warm water and mild soap to the inner surface of the visor. Rinse the visor with warm water, and pat it dry with a paper towel.

4. Spray the outer surface of the visor lightly with a high-quality plastic polish. Wipe the polish dry using a microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the visor.
