Motorbike Friendly Hotels

Plenty of fine establishments will cater to a biker after a long day's ride.

Biker friendly accommodations range from those calling themselves "biker friendly" because you can park your ride right outside your door to those offering special packages, events and merchandise geared specifically to motorcycle lovers. If you have specific needs or desires, be sure to call ahead and get definite information from the hotel's management.

The Iron Horse Hotel

The Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee is a boutique hotel in a renovated warehouse that goes all out to cater to travelers on two wheels. Parking is secured, with some covered spots available, and includes rag bins and check-in carts. There's an on-site bike wash and gear store, and guests receive special welcome bags with hotel logo skull caps, saddlebag lunches, lip balm, sunscreen and route suggestions. Rooms have tiled entryways with hooks for heavy leathers and a bench to store helmets and boots.

Created and operated especially for motorcycle riders by motorcycle riders, Blue Highway Motorcycle Lodge in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, offers six cottages, each suitable for two adults, and each provided with fire pit, grill, picnic table, whirlpool tub, flat screen TV and fireplace. Rooms are decorated with vintage bike art and memorabilia. In the summer season, all six cabins are reserved for bikers only.

Best Western

The Best Western hotel chain operates a trademark Rider-Friendly Ride Rewards program in conjunction with Harley Davidson. Over 1,200 Best Westerns in the U.S. and more than 85 in Canada participate. You will find wipe-down towels, bike wash stations and motorcycle-friendly parking. Harley riders get a 10 percent discount and earn miles and other rewards.
