Louisiana Motorcycle Festivals and Events


Spring and summer in Louisiana are popular times for motorcycle rides and events. Motorcycle groups and owners come together to host day- or even week-long events for themselves, as well as other members of the bike community. These events often include activities for all ages and also benefit charities. The following is a list by month of annual motorcycle events in Louisiana for 2010.


March


The Flight Crew motorcycle club will host the Ride for Scholars on March 6 in Baton Rouge. The event features a ride, which starts at noon (with registration starting at 11 a.m.) at Capitol High Academy, 1000 North 23rd Street. Registration is $10, which includes a gift. The L.A. Tri Deuces will host the Natylee Murphy Benefit Ride on March 6 in DeRidder. The ride starts at 10 a.m. (with registration beginning at 8 a.m.) at the American Legion on Route 112. The cost is $30 per bike, which includes lunch. The first 200 riders to register will also receive a ride patch. Following the ride, there will be a raffle and auction. Hammond Harley Davidson will host the Louisiana State Harley Owners Rally on March 25 through 27 in Hammond. The rally will be at Southeastern Louisiana University, 900 A West University Avenue. Registration begins at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 25. The event will include guided and unguided motorcycle tours, games, a motorcycle show, entertainment and more. April


The Jennings Lions Club will host the Lottery Run on April 3 in Jennings. The ride starts at 10 a.m. (with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.) at the I-10 Park. The cost is $20 per rider and $15 per passenger. The ride benefits the Crippled Children's Camp in Leesville and the Louisiana Eye Foundation. Those who pre-register will receive a T-shirt. The Louisiana District Rally Mardi Gras Madness will be held on April 8 through 10 at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center, 2032 NE Evangelina Thruway in Lafayette starting at noon on Thursday, April 8. Silver Creek Campground will host the 7th Annual Meet on the Creek Motorcycle Rally on April 23 through 25 in Mount Hermon. The rally will be held at the Silver Creek Campground, 37323 Highway 1055. Gates open at noon on Friday, April 23. Admission is $25 per person. The rally includes a motorcycle show, a scenic ride, games, music, contests and more. You must be 18 to participate. ABATE of Louisiana will host the 6th Annual Ride for Your Rights on May 15 in Covington. The ride starts at 10:30 a.m. (with registration beginning at 10 a.m.) at the Daiquiri Depot. The 2010 Acadiana Run to the Run will be May 23 through 30 in Pineville and Scott. The ride starts at Cajun Harley Davidson in Scott at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 23. There will be a stop at 1 p.m. in Pineville at the Chevron Station, 3433 Monroe Highway, where other riders will be able to join. Riders will spend Sunday night in Monroe. Other overnight stops will be in Meridian, Mississippi on Monday, May 24; Chattanooga, Tennessee on Tuesday, May 25; Wytheville, Virginia on Wednesday, May 26; Salem, Virginia on Thursday, May 27; and Arlington, Virginia on Friday, May 28 through 30. The Veterans of Vietnam MC Louisiana and American Legion Post 14 will host Woody's Ride for Veterans on June 5 in Shreveport. The ride starts at 9:30 a.m. (with registration beginning at 9 a.m.) at the American Legion Post 14 on Cross Lake. The event includes food, music, games, a motorcycle show, vendors and more. Divas Cruisin' Da Coast Second Annual Charity Weekend will be held June 25 through 26 in Baton Rouge and Baker. The ride and activities start at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 25 at the Hyatt Place Baton Rouge, 6080 Bluebonnet Boulevard, Baton Rouge. The cost is $5, which includes a meet-and-greet after the ride. On Saturday, June 26, there will be a ride at 11 a.m. (with registration beginning at 10:30) starting at Brown Heights Park, 15450 Plank Road, Baker. The cost is $5.
