Remove A Face Shield On An Arai Helmet

Remove a Face Shield on an Arai Helmet

Arai's high-performance motorcycle helmets, such as those in the race-oriented Corsair series, are used by many of the world's fastest racers. These helmets are designed not only with protection in mind, but with improving a rider's aerodynamic profile. Arai's helmets often draw criticism over the removal and installation of the face shield. However, Arai's Super AdSIS (Advanced Shield Installation System) face shields can be quickly and easily replaced.

Instructions

Removal

1. Place the helmet on a level surface directly in front of you.

2. Open the face shield until it is locked into the fully-opened position. A pair of levers (one on each side) will extend from the face shield's side pods.

3. Push upward on these levers until a click is heard. The clicking sound signifies that the face shield has been released from the Super AdSIS mechanism.

4. Remove the face shield by pulling the shield out of the side pods.

Installation

5. Place the helmet on a level surface directly in front of you.

6. Place the face shield approximately at its fully-open position.

7. Slip the curved ends of the face shield into the side pod's openings and push the shield further into the side pods.

8. Adjust the face shield by gently moving it upward and downward. This will help settle the face shield into the Super AdSIS mechanism.
