2002 Dyna Wide Glide Specifications

In 1991, Harley-Davidson introduced the Dyna Glide to the world. The follow-up to the FXR Super Glide II series, the Dyna Glide models offered a more vibration-resistant engine mount than the FXRs. The Wide Glide was introduced in 1993 and continued production up until 2008, when it was offered as a 105th Anniversary model and retired. The 2002 Wide Glide was a classic example of the Wide Glide's classic custom cruiser styling and trademark Harley-Davidson V-Twin rumble.


Engine


The 2002 Harley-Davidson FDXWG Dyna Wide Glide sports an air-cooled 1,449 cc four-stroke V-Twin, with pushrod-operated overhead valves and self-adjusting lifters. There are two valves per cylinder, for a total of four valves. The Wide Glide engine is equipped with a 40 mm constant velocity carburetor with an enrichener and an accelerator pump. This engine features internally mounted dry dump lubrication. The cylinder bore in this engine measures 95.3 mm and has a 101.6 mm stroke. The compression ratio is 8.8 to 1.


Transmission and Drive


The 2002 Harley-Davidson FDXWG Dyna Wide Glide is equipped with a five-speed constant mesh manual transmission, with a multi-plate clutch equipped with a diaphragm spring in an oil bath. Primary drive power is delivered using a double-row chain, with a mechanical tensioner and oil bath. Final drive power reaches the rear wheel through a fiber-reinforced poly chain belt.


Suspension and Brakes


The front wheel of the 2002 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide is equipped with a 49 mm polished aluminum fork triple clamp suspension with dual rate springs and 127 mm of wheel travel. The rear wheel is fitted with a coil-over shock suspension with 104 mm of wheel travel. The front wheel is also equipped with a single, 300 mm disc brake with four piston calipers, while the rear wheel features a single, 292 mm disc brake, with four piston calipers.


Dimensions and Capacities


The 2002 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide is 93.7 inches long, with a seat height of 26.8 inches. The wheelbase measures 65.6 inches and the Wide Glide clears the ground at 5.4 inches. The rake is set to 32 degrees and the trail measures 5.09 inches. The Wide Glide has a dry weight of 661.4 lbs. and has a maximum fuel capacity of 5.20 gallons of regular, unleaded gasoline. The Wide Glide also has a reserve fuel tank, with has a maximum capacity of 1.11 gallons.
