The 2006 FXDBI Street Bob was the first in Harley-Davidson's Street Bob line. The custom cruiser was still in production as of 2010. The original 2006 model was available in four colors: Vivid Black, Black Denim, Deep Cobalt Pearl and Black Cherry Pearl.
Dimensions
Clearing the ground by 5.6 inches, the Harley measured 92.8 inches long and had a wheelbase of 64.2 inches. Without any load, the bike's seat height was 26.8 inches. With a load, this was 25.8 inches. The rake and trail were 29 degrees and 4.7 inches, respectively. The front wheel was 19 inches in diameter and the back wheel was 17 inches in diameter. Both were steel laced. Excluding any liquids, the Street Bob weighed 634 pounds. With liquids included, the motorcycle held 3 quarts of oil and 4.7 gallons of fuel.
Power
Powering the Harley was an air-cooled 1,450 cc four-stroke V2 engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts. The engine had a 8.9-to-1 compression ratio. Both of the two cylinders had a bore size of 3.8 and the piston's stroke was 4 inches. Electronic sequential port fuel injection delivered the fuel to the engine. The Street Bob could generate a maximum 59.7 horsepower and 85 foot-pounds of torque. This power was transferred to the wheels via a six-speed transmission with chain primary drive. The Harley could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.58 seconds and had an overall top speed of 116 mph. The bike could travel 50 miles on a gallon of fuel.
Brakes and Suspension
A polished aluminum front fork consisting of triple clamps and two rate-springs smoothed out the roads. At the back, coil-over shocks helped out. These suspension systems allowed for 5 inches of travel at the front and 4.1 inches of travel at the back. An 11.8-inch floating front brake and 11.5-inch rear brake supplied the Harley with stopping power. Both sets of brakes had four-piston calipers.
