Harley-Davidson's Road Glide is one of their flagship "Full Dress" or "Bagger" cruisers. The term refers to the sheer quantity of optional extras included on this model as standard. If an accessory can be fitted to a motorcycle, this model includes it as standard. Along with the windshield, integrated luggage and high-backed seats, the Road Glide is also one of very few motorcycles to include any sort of on-board entertainment package. Newer models also include GPS and satellite navigation as part of the same unit.
Instructions
1. Insert the ignition key and turn on the radio. The Road Glide's radio is capable of storing 40 presets. The presets should be set and saved with your favorite stations before setting off on the bike. Only the handlebar controls should be used while riding, and these are best used to scroll through the presets. Attempting to locate and fine-tune a signal while riding can be distracting, so it's a good idea to tune the radio manually to the desired frequencies and press the "Preset" button when the signal is clear.
2. Examine the cluster of controls next to the left handlebar grip. They should consist of a toggle rocker switch for the radio bands, and two sprung rocker switches that return to the center position when released. One controls the volume, the other the frequency or preset. The reason for the obviously different configurations on the switches is for simplicity. If you can feel which is which using your thumb, you don't need to look at them while riding.
3. Select "FM" using the band switch. This involves pressing the upper section of the switch. Depressing the lower half returns it to "AM." Click the vertical volume rocker switch with a series of brief pulses on the upper half, gradually increasing the volume. Holding the switch down can result in a sudden and dramatic increase in the sound level.
4. Click the horizontal rocker switch to the right. This will cause it to select the next preset or strong radio signal in the frequency band. Clicking the left side of the switch causes it to scroll downward through the band or select the previous preset.
