Problems With The Ati Mobility Radeon X600

Solve problems with your computer's graphics card.

The ATI Mobility Radeon X600 is a graphics card common in Hewlett Packard (HP) Pavilion computers on Windows operating systems. Because graphics cards are responsible for the image display on your computer screen, the majority of the problems relating to the ATI Mobility Radeon X600 have to do with computer screen display function.

Black Display Screen

There are two instances reported by users of the ATI Mobility Radeon X600 that result in a black display screen. First, the graphics card sometimes defaults to a black screen after new device drivers for the card are installed instead of working with them successfully. Second, the display screen sometimes turns black after the operating system boots up but before the desktop has a chance to load.

Scrambled Display

The ATI Mobility Radeon X600 graphics card sometimes scrambles or alters the display screen if the screen resolution is adjusted by the user while it is running. The only way to restore the screen is to restart the computer and disable the graphics card.

Compatible Drivers

Users have also reported problems that occur when trying to install some drivers that list the ATI Mobility Radeon X600 as compatible. The Catalyst driver is an example of this issue. Despite the claim of compatibility, the driver and the graphics card will not work together, and instead, an error message displays.
