Festivals On The Outerbanks Of North Carolina

Kitty Hawk Kites puts on two different festivals each year that celebrate the invention of the kite.

The Outer Banks is a popular vacation destination, but it has much more to offer than just sand and sun. Visitors and residents of the Outer Banks can enjoy a variety of festivals year round. If you are interested in music, art or sports, there are festivals to delight every member of your family.

First Friday on Roanoke Island

First Friday on Roanoke Island is a family-oriented street festival that occurs the first Friday of each month, April through December. Taking place on the Downtown Manteo Waterfront, the sidewalks are lined with live music, magic, artists and period-dressed actors. Other activities include wine tasting, a Historic Inn Crawl, a rock climbing wall, as well as arts and crafts. Many of the shops and restaurants do individual celebrations for First Friday, including live music, discounts, and special sales.
