Connect an HD Television to a Shaw Cable
Shaw is a Canadian cable, Internet and home phone company based in Calgary, Alberta. The company has over 550,000 digital customers in Western Canada and was among the first companies to provide digital entertainment in the country. If you have recently purchased a Shaw Communications digital receiver, you will need to connect it to your television before you can watch anything. Connecting your Shaw digital receiver to your high definition television is quite straightforward and will only take a few minutes. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Look for a socket labeled "HDMI" on the back of the Shaw cable box. Connect one end of the HDMI cable into this socket. The cable will only fit one way. Make sure it is firmly in place before proceeding.
2. Look for a similar socket on the back of your television. Some sets will have multiple HDMI sockets for connecting several devices. Connect the cable to an empty socket in the same way.
3. Connect the Shaw cable box to an electrical outlet via the power cable. Press the power button on the front of the Shaw box in the top left corner.
4. Switch your television input to HDMI mode. If your set has multiple HDMI sockets, the Shaw signal may show up under "HDMI 1" or "HDMI 2" or similar, depending on your TV model.
