High definition, or HD, DVD players and movies allow movie fans to enjoy their favorite films in high quality video and sound. In the spring of 2008, however, HD DVDs were defeated in the high definition "format war" by competitor Blu-ray. When this occurred, electronics stores stopped carrying HD DVD movies on their shelves. Some stores offered rebates or special deals to owners of HD DVD players at the time. If you kept your HD DVD player, you can still buy HD DVD movies on the Internet.
Instructions
1. Browse through the HD DVD movies listed on the Best Buy website (see Resources). Scroll down the page and click the next number link in order to view the next page of HD DVD movies. Click on the movie you wish to purchase to read a description of that movie. Then, click "Add to Cart" to buy that HD DVD.
2. Look for HD DVD movies on Amazon (see Resources below). Click the "Search" drop box and select "HD DVD." You can then enter the title of the HD DVD movie in the text box to the right of the drop box. You can also scroll down the website to view all of the HD DVD movies. Click "Next" at the bottom of the page to view the next page of HD DVD movies. Select the movie you wish to purchase and then click "Add to Shopping Cart" to buy that HD DVD movie.
3. Search for HD DVD movies on the Hi Def DVD website (see Resources). Scroll down the page to view the top selling HD DVD movies on the website. You can also click the "Next" tab at the top of the page in order to view all of the HD DVD movies listed on the website. Click the "Buy Now" tab next to the movie to purchase that particular HD DVD movie.
4. Find HD DVD movies on the CD Universe website (see Resources). When you get to the website, search for HD DVD movies by category by clicking one of the category links at the top of the page. You can also browse through all of the HD DVD movies found on the website by scrolling down the page and clicking the following number link in order to view the HD DVD movies on the next page. Choose the movie you wish to purchase and then click "Add to Cart" on the movie page in order to buy that HD DVD movie.
5. Look for HD DVD movies on eBay (see Resources). You will find new and used HD DVD movies on eBay, giving you the option to save some money while shopping. Once you get to the eBay website, you can narrow your search by clicking one of the genre links on the left side of the page. You can also type in the name of a HD DVD movie in the search box at the top of the page. From there, you will be able to either make a bid on the movie or "Buy it Now," depending on the seller.
