Use a custom desktop background to show your unique style.
Creating your own desktop background is an excellent and easy way to personalize your computer. You can use an existing picture on your computer, or capture a new one using a digital camera. Desktop pictures are usually stored in the JPEG format.
Instructions
1. Select the picture you want to use and save it on your computer. The picture should have a resolution of at least 600 x 800, for the best appearance. Bear in mind that the picture may need to be enlarged to fill the screen and therefore should be taken with a high resolution.
2. Click on the "Start" menu. Click "Control Panel." Select "Appearance and Personalization."
3. Select "Change Desktop Background." Select the picture location from the drop-down menu or choose "Browse" to locate a picture anywhere on your computer.
4. Open the folder containing the picture. Select the picture. Click "Save Changes." Close the Control Panel. The new wallpaper will be displayed.
