Change The Background Color On An Ipod Touch With Apps

Customize the look of your iPod touch with a new background color.

If you've been using your iPod touch for a while, you might be weary of looking at the free background images that come already installed on the device. Instead, you might prefer to change the background color with an app. The iPod touch, a portable music player made by Apple, has a touch-sensitive display, a built-in microphone and two cameras, and it connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi so you can access Apple's App Store and download free apps to change the device's background color. For example, you could download "Menu Color," "Retina Wallpapers HD with Glow Effects" or "Vivid Wallpaper Lite."

Instructions

Menu Color

1. Press the "Home" button, located below the multi-touch display of the iPod touch.

2. Tap the "Menu Color" icon to launch the free app.

3. Touch anywhere on the screen, and drag your finger around to change the color. Touch the "Brightness" scrub bar and drag it to the left to decrease the color's brightness and intensity.

4. Tap "Save" when you are satisfied with the color. The plain color background saves to your iPod touch's Camera Roll. Tap the word "OK."

5. Press the "Home" button. Tap the "Setting" icon, then tap "Wallpaper," then tap the thumbnail of your current background image, and then tap "Camera Roll." Tap the thumbnail of the color background you saved with Menu Color, and then tap "Set" to use it for your iPod touch's background. Press the "Home" button to return to the home screen.

Retina Wallpapers HD With Glow Effects

6. Press the "Home" button, located below the multi-touch display of the iPod touch.

7. Tap the "Retina Wallpapers HD with Glow Effects" icon to launch the free app.

8. Tap "Filter." Drag your finger upward against the screen to scroll down until you see "Color" section. Tap the name of a color. Thumbnails of color backgrounds appear. Tap the thumbnail of a background to select it.

9. Tap the icon of a downward-pointing arrow at the bottom left of the screen to save the background to your iPod touch's Camera Roll. A message appears, indicating the background is saved.

10. Press the "Home" button. Tap the "Setting" icon, then tap "Wallpaper," then tap the thumbnail of your current background image, and then tap "Camera Roll." Tap the thumbnail of the color background you saved with Retina Wallpapers HD, and then tap "Set" to use it for your iPod Touch's background. Press the "Home" button to return to the home screen.

Vivid Wallpaper Lite

11. Press the "Home" button, located below the multi-touch display of the iPod touch.

12. Tap the "Vivid Wallpaper Lite" icon to launch the free app. Thumbnails of various colored backgrounds appear.

13. Tap the "Line" icon at the bottom left of the screen. Tap the "Hidden" option to "Off." This allows you to create a solid color background without any lines. Tap the "Line" icon once more to return to the background thumbnails.

14. Tap "Save" to save the colored background to the device's Camera Roll. Tap "OK."

15. Press the "Home" button. Tap the "Setting" icon, then tap "Wallpaper," then tap the thumbnail of your current background image and then tap "Camera Roll."
