Harley-Davidson offers a motorcycle for every kind of rider.
In its long history, Harley-Davidson has made its name producing motorcycles that take equal advantage of tradition and innovation to win the admiration of motorcycle enthusiasts. Between fully outfitted touring bikes, low-riding cruisers, flamboyant choppers or intimidating racers, Harley has offered something for everyone, and the multitude of models in the company's 2011 lineup exemplified that diversity.
Sportster
One of Harley-Davidson's legendary lines, the Sportster, offered seven models for 2011. The Sportster XL883L SuperLow and the Sportster XR1200X were entirely new for the model year. The SuperLow and the Iron 883 were entry-level Harleys, while the XR1200X, with adjustable suspension, all-over satin black finish and retro styling, sat at the top end of the Sportster line.
Dyna and Softail
The 2011 Softail line continued the Harley-Davidson tradition of making models with concealed rear shocks, giving them the look a rigid-frame bike without sacrificing the comfort of a rear suspension. The seven Softail models ranged from the Fat Boy cruiser to the Rocker C chopper. The Dyna line included four models equipped with the Twin Cam 96 engine, including the Street Bob, the Wide Glide chopper and the Fat Bob, a softail bike with hidden rear shocks.
Touring
For 2011, the Touring line included eight models equipped with windscreens and saddlebags for riders who need a motorcycle suited for long-distance traveling. The Road King was equipped with the Twin Cam 96 engine, while the Road King Classic featured the Twin Cam 103, a new engine for 2011. The Street Glide occupied the low end of the Touring line, and the Electra Glide Ultra Limited was at the fully loaded end of the Touring spectrum.
VRSC, Trike and CVO
Harley-Davidson offered some specialty lines to satisfy the special needs of its most demanding customers. The VRSC (V-Twin Racing Street Custom) line for 2011 included the Night Rod Special, a cruiser with a drag-style handlebar, and the V-Rod Muscle. The Trike line included two three-wheeled models, the Street Glide and the Tri Glide Ultra Classic. Finally, the CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) line offered four high-end models featuring upgraded powertrain, accessories and paint.
