The Rinnai Infinity is a compact, continuous flow gas water heater. It operates by only heating water when needed. When the tap is turned on, water passes through the unit, heating it instantly; it delivers the heated water to the tap. As an added safety feature, the Rinnai Infinity comes with up to four remote controls that not only allow you to control the temperature but also to determine various errors. When there is a problem with the unit, the remote control displays an error code. This tool makes troubleshooting the unit easier and more efficient. In most cases, a service technician will be required to inspect and repair the unit, but basic troubleshooting can resolve some error codes. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Error Code 3 occurs when the power is interrupted during a bath fill. The water will not flow after the power is restored. Make sure all taps are shut off, then press the ON/OFF switch on the remote control twice.
2. Error Code 10 occurs when the combustion fan current is too high. The unit starts then stops. Check the air intake outlet and combustion fan for a blockage.
3. Error Code 11 occurs when there is no flame. The unit will not operate without ignition. Check the gas supply, sparker unit, and gas valves. Contact your gas provider if there is no gas getting to the unit. Contact a service technician if the sparker unit or valves are at fault.
4. Check the power cord. When the appliance does not operate at all and there is no digital code displayed on the remote, make sure the cord is plugged in properly and the power supply is turned on. Check the fuse box to make sure the fuse supplying power to the unit has not been tripped.
5. Reprogram the remote, if needed. When the unit is not working and the remote control does not display an error code, reprogramming needs to be done. Follow the instructions for the particular model being used or contact a service technician.
