Engine, Performance and Exhaust
At the core of the 2007 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe, is the twin cam 96-cubic-inch, or 1584 cc, displacement, 45-degree, chrome and black, air-cooled V-Twin engine designed in unison with a cruise drive six-speed transmission that matches shift points to power output seamlessly. The Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection fuel system makes the motorcycle easy to start and run smoothly in all kinds of weather.
The piston stroke is longer for 2007, providing extra torque, reducing mechanical noise for a deeper, throatier sound through the long-barreled shotgun exhaust pipes. Fuel capacity is 5 gallons -- expect to see fuel economy of 53-highway mpg, and 34-city mpg.
Styling and Comfort
The Softail Deluxe's pullback risers and handlebar are designed for rider handling ease, full-length floorboards contribute to comfort and stability on long rides and the 24.5-inch seat height is ideal for shorter riders. An easy to reach side stand is unique to the model as is the integrated luggage rack and chrome grab rail on the rider seat. Two-up styling easily morphs into solo cruising with a detachable passenger pillion.

Paint Color Schemes
The 2007 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe is available in Vivid Black, Black Cherry Pearl, Black Pearl and Deep Cobalt Pearl. New for 2007 are color schemes harking back to the 1939 Harley era -- two-tone Olive Pearl and Vivid Black, two-tone White Gold Pearl and Vivid Black, and two-tone White Gold Pearl and Deep Cobalt Pearl.
Dimensions and Weight
The Softail Deluxe is 94.7 inches long with a 64.5-inch wheelbase. A moderately heavy running weight of 724 pounds is offset by the low center of gravity, which provides balance and makes the motorcycle feel lighter.
