Convert Fat 32 To Ntfs

Converting a hard disk to NTFS from FAT32 serves several purposes. Newer versions of Windows such as XP and Vista only run optimally on a NTFS formatted disk, as features such as search indexing and cluster management are not available in Windows while using FAT32. Converting a FAT32 disk to NTFS is an easy procedure that any computer user can accomplish without any extra software.

Instructions

1. Open the Windows Control Panel and double click the icon named "System and Security."

2. Double click the "Administrative Tools" icon.

3. Double-click the "Computer Management" icon.

4. Click the "Disk Management" heading in the left most panel.

5. Right-click the drive you wish to convert to NTFS to display a context menu.

6. Click the "Format" option from the context menu.

7. Ensure the file system selected from the dialog box that appears is NTFS, and click the "OK" button. This will perform a disk format that leaves the hard drive with a NTFS file system.
