Arts and Design Society
The Arts and Design Society of Fort Walton Beach, Florida is located on the southeastern side, two blocks from the beach. The Arts and Design Society is non-profit and prides itself on featuring local artists as well as offering a variety of classes to amateur artist. There are numerous art classes offered to any age group including children. Clay classes, for example, are for children ages 7 to 14 and teach the basic techniques of clay building. There are also several children's art groups that meet throughout the month that experiment with photography and life drawing. Classes start at $60 a month but range depending on the class type.

Gulfarium Marine and Show Aquarium
Just off the coast and into Henderson Beach State Recreation Area is the Gulfarium Marine and Show Aquarium. Gulfarium has been around since 1955 and since then has offered entertainment and education for the entire family. Visitors can interact with the dolphins by petting, feeding and helping them perform tricks. The aquariums are home to dozens of different sea animals and a variety of different coral. Children of all ages can plan their birthday party or special event in one of Golfarium's private party rooms. The Gulfarium even offers education summer classes for children that want to find out more about underwater life.

Air Force Armament Museum
The Air Force Armament Museum is just three miles outside of Fort Walton Beach and on the grounds of the Eglin Air Force Base. The Air Force Armament Museum features a wide variety of aircrafts from most of the American wars including World War I and II, Vietnam as well as modern planes used today. The grounds also feature a collection of guns, bombs, missiles as well as a video explaining the history or Eglin Air Force Base. The museum is open Monday through Saturday and is no charge.
