The Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide was introduced in 1994. The Dyna series is the entry level series of large-displacement V-twin Harleys. The name Wide Glide refers to the wide placement of the front forks. The Dyna Wide Glide is styled similarly to custom choppers and has a very cruiser-like steering geometry. The 2010 model features custom logos.
Engine
The 2010 Dyna Wide Glide is powered by a 96 cubic inch (1584 cubic centimeter) air-cooled, V-twin engine. The valves are pushrod-operated and there are two valves per cylinder. The compression ratio of the V-twin engine is 9.2:1 and the bore and stroke measurement is 3.75 by 4.38 inches. The Wide Glide's engine is fuel injected and produces 92 foot-pounds of torque at 3000 RPM. The fuel economy of the Wide Glide is 35 MPG in the city and 54 MPG on the highway.
Transmission, Suspension, Brakes and Tires
The V-twin engine of the Wide Glide is mated to a six-speed transmission, which transfers power to the rear wheel via a final drive belt. The steel frame is supported by two 49-mm front forks (with 5 inches of travel) and two rear coil-over shocks (with 3.1 inches of travel). There is a single front brake disc and a single rear disc brake. The front tire is a 80/90-21 unit and the rear tire is a 180/60B17 unit.
