2003 Ford F150 Specifications

For the 2003 model year, the Ford F-150 got a rear-window defogger and sound-deadening as standard features except on the XL and XLT models. Those two versions feature an appearance option that includes chrome accents on the grille-surround, tubular step bars and 17-inch wheels.


Engine


The truck features 40 trimlines in four-wheel and rear-wheel versions. Each of these models has a different engine ranging from a 4.2L, 202 horsepower V6 to a 5.4L, 380 hp V8, with transmissions ranging from a four-speed automatic overdrive to a five-speed manual overdrive.


Mileage


According to the U.S. Department of Energy's Fuel Economy website, the F150 gets a combined 16 miles per gallon, with 15 in the city and 19 on the highway. This refers to the 4.2L, six-cylinder engine with a manual, five-speed transmission.


Exterior


The XL 2WD has two doors and measures 206.9 inches long by 79.3 inches wide by 73.4 inches high, with a curb weight of 3,990 lbs. for the manual-transmission version and 4,036 lbs. for the trucks with an automatic. The cargo bed measures 78.8 inches long by 65.2 inches wide (without the wheel well) and 20 inches deep.
