What Are The Motor Specs For A 2008 Harley Night Train

The Harley-Davidson FXSTB, also known as Night Train, made its first appearance in 1998 and was discontinued in 2009. The Night Train is a member of the Harley-Davidson Softail line and is known for its rigid design and dark color.

Engine

The 2008 Night Train has an air cooled Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 96B engine. The engine is a V2 4-stroke, with a displacement of 1,584 cc, or 96 cubic inches. The bore, the diameter of a cylinder, is 3.8 inches. The stroke, the distance a rod or piston travels the length of a cylinder, is 4.4 inches. The displacement is determined by the number of cylinders, bore and stroke.

Transmission

The Night Train has a six-speed Harley-Davidson Cruise Drive transmission. The Cruise Drive has helical-cut gears, which reduces engine noise. A multi-plate clutch controls the manual transmission system.

Fuel System

The Night Train uses Harley-Davidson's Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection, or ESPFI. The Night Train has a fuel capacity of five gallons and gets 54 miles per gallon.
