Christiana is a small village near Wilmington, Delaware. It was established in 1684 and almost became the nation's capital. Because of its location on Ye Olde Kings Road, it became a stopover on the major inland route between Baltimore, Maryland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. However, it became less important as railroads and canals were built. Today, the village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Although there aren't any motels located in Christiana itself, there are many places to stay nearby.
