The Churchill Downs horse racing track is one of the major tourist attractions in Louisville.

Tourism is one of the states biggest industries and there are many different types of accommodations available for visitors in the state. Youth hostels are one option for young people to be able to travel in the state relatively cheaply and safely. Located right in the heart of Louisville, in the Clifton neighborhood, is the Emily Boone Home Hostel and Guest House. The hostel is located in the home of the proprietor, the guest room is located in a walkout basement with its own separate entrance. Parking for the establishment in on the street only.
Accommodations
The hostel's one guest room is located in the walkout basement and features a futon bed and two Japanese-style rollout foam futons. The guest room is a common area that is shared by all guests. Reservations are recommended, as this hostel is relatively small and can only accommodate around four guests at any given time. There is a one-night minimum stay and a three-night maximum stay, though this is flexible with the approval of the proprietor. The hostel is wheelchair-accessible.
Amenities
The Emily Boone Home Hostel and Guest House does not enforce a curfew, and guests are free to come and go via their own separate entrance as they please. Linens and towels are not included; however, the hostel does provide blankets and linens for hire. Credit cards are not permitted for payment, and luggage storage is not available. The guest room is coed and nonsmoking; pets and service animals are permitted with special permission. No membership is required for booking.
Surrounding Area
The Clifton neighborhood is two miles from Louisville's downtown. There are three local bus routes within two blocks of the hostel, the Greyhound Bus Terminal is three miles away, and the airport is six miles away. Some of the major tourist attractions that are very close by are the University of Louisville's campus, Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Fairgrounds and Exposition Center. Natural attractions like the Falls of Ohio and the Mammoth Cave are also a short drive away. The hostel is within walking distance of area parks and public horseback riding stables.
