HDTV Advantages
HDTV provides a much more clear picture than regular TV, especially when displaying high-definition television. DVDs also look sharper and more colorful on an HDTV than a regular TV, according to CNET Reviews. Since more and more people, and television shows, are switching to HDTV, having a high-definition television means you won't have to update your technology as quickly.
Regular TV Advantages
Non-HD televisions are less expensive than HDTVs. In addition, if you mostly watch shows that aren't available in high-definition, the difference in image quality between TVs is more equitable. Regular TVs only require a cable or cable box to access television shows. HDTVs require HD satellite or cable boxes and access to HD programming, which may cost more than regular cable.
Misconceptions
