There are several reasons your digital photos can turn out blurry. For example, if you take a picture of a moving object, or if the camera is out of focus, or you have a "shaky" hand. However, blurry pictures can often be fixed, so you shouldn't just assume the picture is useless and delete it.
Instructions
Local Software
1. Open a photo-editing program on your computer, such as PhotoShop or PaintShop.
2. Open the blurred photo inside of the photo-editing program. To do this, click "File" from the menu bar and select "Open." Navigate to the photo on your computer and open it.
3. Click the option to "Sharpen" the image. This option will likely be listed in the "Effects" section. However, the exact location of the Sharpen feature will vary depending on which software you are using.
4. View your image to ensure all of the blurriness is removed. If the photo is still a little blurry, keep clicking the "Sharpen" feature until all of the blur is gone.
5. Save the image. If you want to write over the original image, click "File" and then choose "Save." Otherwise, if you want to keep the original, click "File," choose "Save As," give the file a new name and press "OK."
Online Software
6. Visit a website that offers free online photo-editing software. An example of sites you can use include Picnik, LunaPic, FotoFlexer and PhotoShop (not to be confused with the software made by Adobe). Depending upon the site you use, it may be necessary to sign up for a free user account.
7. Log into your user account (if applicable). Click "Upload." Browse through your computer files to select the picture and upload it to the online server.
8. Select the option to "Sharpen" the image. Although the sharpen option will likely be listed in the "Effects" section, the exact location will vary by website.
9. View your image to ensure all of the blurriness is removed. If blur remains, keep clicking "Sharpen" until all the blur is gone.
10. Click "Save" to save the photo. In some cases, the photo will be saved to the site's online server. Otherwise, the edited image will be saved to your computer's hard drive.
