Install The Android Os On The Samsung Instinct Hd

Install the Android OS on the Samsung Instinct HD

Google's Android operating system (OS) is an open-source, open-market OS for smartphones that gives independent programmers an opportunity to create applications, games and Web browsers for the platform. The Android OS also supports features such as touch screen, digital photos and GPS navigation. Downloading the operating system to your Samsung Instinct HD is straightforward but time-consuming.

Instructions

1. Download the Android SDK OS at the Android Developers website (see Resources). Select your computer's operating system from the list. Save the .zip file to your desktop.

2. Download and install the starter package and plug-in for the Android. These are on the left-hand side of the Android Developers website. Save the files to your desktop.

3. Double-click each file. Follow the setup wizard instructions for proper installation. Restart your computer after the process is complete.

4. Remove the protective cover from the back of your Samsung Instinct phone. Take out the battery and insert a SD memory card. Save your important data to your memory card, since installing the Android OS may wipe out your phone's memory.

5. Attach the data cable to your Samsung phone. Insert the other end to your computer's USB port.

6. Highlight the Android files on your desktop. Right click and select "Copy." Click "Start and "Computer."

7. Click on your Samsung Instinct folder. Right click and select "Paste." The Android OS files will copy to your folders.

8. Disconnect the data cable from your computer and phone. Restart your Samsung Instinct phone. It should boot up with the Android OS.
