Assembling an entertainment center is an easy task, particularly with help.
Home Trends Fox Glenn entertainment centers are designed for long-lasting durability but they are also designed for ease of installation. This practical approach to manufactured furniture design makes the process much easier on those assembling the furniture piece at home, particularly those who do not often work with tools. The packaging includes all necessary equipment, but those who own their own tools may find additional comfort and increased installation speed by using a larger Allen wrench set. The project should be completed in a half hour to an hour, and once completed can easily be taken down when moving or redecorating.
Instructions
1. Carefully review the included assembly instructions if they are still present. Scan the fine print for warnings that may be relevant for your particular installation area or situation, such as warnings for homes with small children or those homes at risk for earthquakes. Locate the parts list and work through the entire list, finding every part to make sure that nothing fell out of the box or was left at the store, as this is much better to know prior to the partial assembly of the piece and its overtaking your living room floor. Contact the retailer as necessary to track down any missing pieces.
2. Spread out the two main side pieces on the floor and have assistants help you position them on their long, thin edges. Set the top board against their top edge and set the specialized nut within the holes in the side boards. Slide the specific bolt through the holes in the top of the top board and into the side boards. Tighten the bolts in place with an Allen wrench. Repeat to add the bottom board.
3. Use the same technique to install any front decorative boards to the top or bottom board of the entertainment center.
4. Position the shelves and any vertical boards in place and attach them using their specific nuts and bolts, tightening each in place with an Allen wrench. Lower the back section of the entertainment unit onto the frame. Hammer the included nails through the back of the unit and into the outer frame. Add nails as desired to the inner frame boards as well.
5. Flip the unit over. Install any doors by setting the door hinges against the pre-drilled door holes and holes in the frame boards and tighten them in place using the included screws and a drill.
6. Reinforce the television shelf if using a particularly heavy television by setting 1-inch metal L-brackets every 6 inches between the television shelf and the vertical boards that it touches. Install them in place using 3/4-inch wood screws drilled through the bracket holes.
Tips Warnings
Screw the top of the entertainment center to the wall if desired by drilling a bracket to the top board and to a wall stud with a 3-inch wood screw.
Never pull forward on the top of the entertainment center, or it could overbalance.
