Make A Onesie Bouquet For A Baby Shower

Make a onesie bouquet to decorate a baby shower.

Bouquets are common gifts for special occasions, such as baby showers. However, flowers die and the bouquet is useless after a few days. Instead of giving the expectant mother flowers that will not last, give her a bouquet made of onesies that she can use for her newborn when he arrives. Choose colors to match the party theme, and let the onesie bouquet help decorate the baby shower space.

Instructions

1. Fold the arms and bottom piece of the onesie in, so that the body of the onesie forms a rectangle. Fold the onesie in thirds, lengthwise. Roll the onesie, so that one edge becomes the flower opening. Wrap a small rubber band around the bottom of the flower, to keep it tightly rolled.

2. Stick the florist's wire into the bottom of the flower and wrap it with florist's tape. Start wrapping at the top, covering the edge of the onesie with tape, and continue until you get the the bottom of the wire, creating a stem.

3. Place the onesie flowers in the vase, sticking the stems into florist's foam. For clear vases you can use candy, pebbles or other small items to anchor the stems in the vase instead of foam. Use small baby items, such as pacifiers, nail clippers or toiletries if you want the entire bouquet to serve as a useful gift.

4. Embellish the arrangement by adding other rolled baby items, such as washcloths, hats or booties. Make flower shapes out of those items the same way as the onesie. In addition, mix in a few silk roses and add silk leaves around the bottom of the flowers for a realistic look.

Tips Warnings

Use onesies and baby items in colors that complement the shower theme and color scheme.

The onesie bouquets can decorate each guest table, the gift table, the cake table or all of them.
