Make A Harley Quinn Costume

Make a Harley Quinn Costume

Harley Quinn is a villain who appears in the DC comic book universe. She was originally a psychologist named Harleen Quinzel, but turned to a life of crime after she was seduced by The Joker while working at Arkham Asylum. She is Batman's enemy and friends with Poison Ivy and Catwoman. Harley Quinn dresses in a red-and-black version of a harlequin's costume, which is similar to that of a jester's. With some basic dressmaking skills, you can make a Harley Quinn costume yourself at home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Cut the black long-sleeved T-shirt in half vertically down the center of the body, so you have an arm on each half. Keep the right-hand side with the right arm and set the rest aside.

2. Cut the red long-sleeved T-shirt in half down the center of the body, so you have an arm on each half. Keep the left-hand side with the left arm and set the rest aside.

3. Turn the right-handed black and left-handed red sides of T-shirt inside out. Sew them together using the backstitch so they form one T-shirt. Sew the two front edges that were cut together, then sew the two back edges you cut together. Imagine you are simply replacing the left half of the black T-shirt you cut off with the left half of the red T-shirt.

4. Turn the completed T-shirt so it is no longer inside out, so all the stitching and rough edges are hidden on the inside.

5. Draw three 10-inch-long triangles with a 3-inch base on the white felt and cut them out.

6. Paste glue behind the bottom three inches of the 3-inch base of one triangle. Stick this to the center of the neckline of the front of your T-shirt. Glue the second triangle to the left of this triangle in the same way. Glue the third triangle to the right of the first. The three triangles should sit in a row around the neckline of the T-shirt--almost like two collars with a tie in the middle. This is your Harley Quinn top.

7. Cut the black tights vertically in half down the center of the gusset. Keep the left leg and put the right one aside.

8. Cut the red tights vertically in half down the center of the gusset. Keep the right leg and put the left one aside.

9. Turn the black left leg and red right leg inside out. Place the two cut edges of the gusset side by side. Sew them together using the backstitch, so they form one pair of leggings. Turn them the right way so they are no longer inside out, so all the stitching and rough edges are hidden on the inside. These are your Harley Quinn bottoms.

10. Repeat Step 7 with the black right leg and red left leg, so the two halves are joined together.

11. Cut off the black right leg at the knee. Use the gathering stitch to gather and sew this cut end together. Repeat on the red left leg.

12. Glue five cotton wool balls together. Glue them onto the gathered end of the black right leg so you cover up the end and the stitching. Repeat with five more cotton wool balls on the red left leg. This is your Harley Quinn hat.

13. Wear your leggings with the red leg on your right leg and the black leg on your left leg.

14. Wear your T-shirt with the black arm on your right arm and the red arm on your left. The three white triangles should be at the front.

15. Wear your hat on your head with the red side at the right of your head and the black side on your left.

16. Wear your black shoe on your right leg and your red shoe on your left.

17.Paint a mask around your eyes using the black face paint.

18. Wear a red glove on your right hand and a black one on your left hand.

Signs That The Flywheel Is Bad

Manual transmission vehicles allow drivers to handle the gear shifting via the clutch.

The flywheel is an integral component of the clutch system in manual transmission automobiles. These can be manufactured in single or dual flywheel systems and work to reduce vibration and maintain gear integrity while the driver is operating the transmission via the clutch. When the flywheel begins to fail, it may be a symptom of larger problems in the transmission such as oil fouling or a cautionary reminder that the driver has been operating the clutch outside acceptable parameters.

Vibration Through the Clutch

Some vehicles use a two-part flywheel system called a "dual mass" flywheel. When these parts or the spring mounts around them begin to fail, the flywheel system will lose its ability to reduce vibration caused by clutch operation. The driver will experience this as increased rumble and vibration through the floor of the vehicle and through manipulation of the clutch when shifting gears.

Burning Smell

A smell like burnt toast is a prime indicator that the flywheel is in need of repair. The smell is due excessive heat in the clutch facings, which is caused by riding the clutch, allowing the gears to slip when in traffic or idling. Over time, if the clutch and flywheel are not allowed to cool, it will ruin the flywheel along with the rest of the system, including the pressure plate and disc.

Clutch Slippage

In dual mass flywheel systems, a symptom of failure is often gear slippage. This can be caused by oil contamination in the inner workings of the dual flywheel or through increased friction due to plate grinding. The driver will notice an intermittent issue with up-shifting where the vehicle may accelerate poorly or be unable to traverse to the next gear or make the shift, but not be able to hold and quickly slide back into the previous gear.

Change The Clutch Cable On A Harley

If you own a Harley, at some point you will change a clutch cable.

The clutch cable connects the clutch lever located on the left handlebar to the right side of your transmission. Inside the transmission, you will locate gearing that connects the cable over to the clutch. In order to change the clutch cable, you must open your transmission casing. This requires a basic understanding of Harley-Davidson mechanics to ensure you do not damage anything inside your transmission.

Instructions

1. Locate the clutch cable adjuster in the middle of the clutch cable. It has a rubber or chrome cover over it. Slide the cover up to expose the adjuster jam nut. Loosen the jam nut with a wrench, and turn the adjuster clockwise to add "free play" to the clutch lever. This means the clutch lever becomes loose.

2. Pull the clutch level in to create slack in the clutch cable. Pull the ball on the end of the cable out of the clutch lever. This disconnects the clutch cable from the clutch lever.

3. Locate the clutch cable clamp on the down tube on the front of the frame, and disconnect the clamp by loosening the setscrew with an Allen wrench. This releases the clutch cable from the down tube.

4. Locate the drain plug on the left side of the transmission. It is an Allen screw, and it is positioned on the lower edge of the transmission. Remove the screw with an Allen wrench, and drain the gear oil into a drain pan. Tighten the screw back into place once drained.

5. Remove the bolts that secure the transmission cover to the side of the transmission with an Allen wrench. Remove the cover and the metal gasket.

6. Remove the ball from the clutch cable seat.

7. Locate the 1-inch long hex coupler on the left side of the transmission where the cable goes into the transmission. The cable goes through the coupler. Turn the coupler counterclockwise with a wrench to loosen the coupler's grip on the cable. Pull the clutch cable out of the transmission, and discard it.

8. Slide the new clutch cable through the coupler, and connect the ball on the end of the cable to the clutch cable seat. Tighten the coupler by turning it clockwise with a wrench.

9. Secure the clutch cable to the down tube on the frame using the clamp and Allen wrench.

10. Connect the ball on the end of the cable to the clutch lever, and pull the lever back into the uncompressed location.

11. Loosen the jam nut on the clutch cable adjuster, and thread the adjuster counterclockwise to remove "free play" from the clutch lever. Stop adjusting when you have approximately a quarter-inch of "free play" travel on the clutch lever.

12. Thread the jam nut against the bottom of the adjuster, and tighten it in place using the wrench. Slide the adjuster cover over the adjuster.

13. Place the new transmission cover gasket onto the transmission, and place the cover on top of it. Secure both into place with the Allen bolts and Allen wrench.

14. Remove the filler plug located on the top of the transmission using an Allen wrench. Drain three-fourths of a container of gear oil into the transmission. Check the dipstick on the filler plug, and add oil as needed. Close the filler plug.

Jukeboxes That Play Cds

There are several types of jukeboxes that play CDs.

The jukebox has its origins in small bars and taverns of the early 20th century, where owners could not afford to provide live music. The jukebox allowed patrons to play and enjoy popular music in even the smallest establishment. After World War II the jukebox became a fixture in bars and restaurants courting young patrons until its popularity began to decline in the 1970s. Originally, jukeboxes played records, but with the digital revolution, several companies have introduced jukeboxes that play CDs.

Wurlitzer

Wurlitzer, one of the original jukebox producers, experienced its greatest success in the 1930s and early 1940s. The Wurlitzer name was purchased by a new company that now produces a line of CD jukeboxes replicating popular Wurlitzer styles from the 1940s and 1950s. Sold under the "One More Time" banner, the new CD jukeboxes come in a variety of styles, including the classic bubbler model 1015, the Princess, which mimics the design of the 1015 but is much smaller and can be mounted on a base or placed on a counter; the Peacock 850, a replica of one of Wurlitzer's original art deco designs from 1941, and the 2000 model, replicating the 1957 Wurlitzer chrome and glass jukebox. Capacity varies by style but is generally around 100 CDs, and several models are available with iPod docks as well.

Rock-Ola

Another big name from the heyday of jukeboxes, Rock-Ola was purchased and used to create a line of CD jukeboxes. The Rock-Ola replications include the Rock-Ola Nostalgic CD bubbler, touted as the most popular jukebox of all-time, with eight bubble tubes, the Gazelle, a recreation of the rare machine in the art deco style produced in a limited number during World War II, and the Peacock, with color-changing peacock feathers and six bubble tubes. Rock-Ola also produces an officially licensed Harley Davidson jukebox. Rock-Ola CD jukeboxes typically hold up to 100 CDs, and no current models are compatible with iPods.

Crosley

The Crosley Company, founded in the 1920s on the principal that high-quality electronics could be created for a lower price, produces a number of CD jukeboxes that replicate the Wurlitzer 1015, including an Elvis Presley model in white. These models generally hold 10 CDs or fewer and can be either full-sized or table-top. Many of the Crosley models also feature AM/FM radio, the ability to play cassette tapes, and iPod connections.

Install Harley Davidson Saddlebags

Install Harley Davidson Saddlebags

Harley Davidson is one of the most well-known motorcycle manufactures on the market today. They have been manufacturing motorcycle and motorcycle accessories for well over one hundred years. Many of the accessories that Harley Davidson makes are easy for even the most novice motorcycle owner to install at home.

Instructions

1. Determine what type of saddlebags you will be installing on your motorcycle. Saddlebags come in hard and soft styles, with each installed in basically the same manner. Hard bags tend to offer more security for your items but are a bit on the bulky side, while soft bags offering a little more flexibility.

2. Check to make sure that your fender bolt area is clean and prepped for installation of your saddlebags. Both hard and soft saddlebags on Harley Davidsons are installed over the fender bolt area on the rear of the motorcycle, so clearing this area of debris and grime will keep it free of scratches and blemishes.

3. Install any spacers or lifting brackets before you try and place your bags on your Harley Davidson. These spacers will keep you bags from resting against your exhaust pipes and will avoid damage to your motorcycle and to the bags themselves. Make sure they are installed tightly and spaced properly before mounting your bags.

4. Open the saddle bag packaging and lay out the included hardware. The hardware will be necessary to properly mount your saddlebags to your fenders, so be sure that you do not misplace it. If your saddle bag comes with a fender mounting bracket, install it along the fender before proceeding. This bracket will be used to hold and stabilize your saddlebags, so it is essential that it is properly tightened and installed.

5. Hold your saddle bag up to the fender and align the bolt holes in the saddle bag with the bolt area on the fender. Your saddle bag will have mounting holes in the side of the bag that will align with the mounting bracket. Place one of the bolts in the hole and tighten to hold it on. Put the remaining bolt in place and tighten them both securely once they are aligned correctly.

6. Repeat this process with the remaining saddle bag. The bags should align evenly and be attached straight to avoid any imbalances or shifting while the motorcycle is in motion. Try and wiggle or move the bags to be sure your bolts are tight enough to prevent movement.

7. Take your Harley Davidson for a short ride. Stop and check the fitting on your saddlebags and look at your bolts. Make sure nothing has moved during your ride and that all of your fittings remain tight. With just a bit of effort, your new saddlebags will make your Harley Davidson the envy of the neighborhood.

Rejet The Carburetor On A Motorcycle

If your motorcycle is running lean, one idea to consider is to rejet your motorcycle carburetor. Putting in larger jets will give you greater performance and a smoother ride in situations that require a richer mixture of fuel. Especially with Harley Davidson motorcycles, carburetor rejetting can be accomplished easily by the backyard mechanic.

Instructions

1. Fine tune your motorcycle before rejetting your carburetor. If it's still running too lean, you can replace the pilot jet as a first step

2. Remove the bowl at the base of the carburetor by unscrewing the screws holding it in place. Unscrew the pilot jet inside, but be careful not to strip it. The jet size will be on top.

3. Use a screwdriver to remove the main jet from the brass jet needle holder, which is also called the emulsion tube.

4. Put in a pilot jet that is one size larger. Replacing it with a jet two sizes larger will make your mixture too rich.

5. Tune the slow/idle settings before replacing the main jet. Replace the main jet with one size larger. The sizes are in increments of 5.

6. Put the bowl back on, and align the accelerator pump shaft and rubber boot.

7. Reinstall the carburetor on the motorcycle and retune it to finish the rejet procedure.

Optimize Iphone Battery

Optimize iPhone battery

Want to get the most life out of your iPhone battery while still doing the battery draining tasks? Check this easy helper out.

Instructions

1. Turn the iPhone on if not already on.

2. Press the black sleep/wake button on the top of the phone, then slide the bar to unlock the phone.

3. Go to the Settings icon then to the Brightness tab. Slide the brightness slide bar a little less than halfway down. It should appear right under the letter 'h' in "Brightness". Then also turn the Auto-Brightness to 'ON'. Go back to settings.

4. Go to the 'General' tab, then check and see if the Bluetooth tab is on or off. If on and you are not currently using it with a Bluetooth device I recommend turning it off. It will save hours of battery life. Navigate back to the settings area.

5. Go to the 'Mail' tab in the settings area and under the 'Messages' Heading tap the 'Auto-Check' tab. You will have four different options. Depending on how much you rely on viewing you email and how often you need to view it is how you need to base this decision. If you need to view it often click the 15 min, less the 30. I recommend the manual option. It will save a lot of battery. Then go back to the 'Mail' area.

6. While still in the mail options area tap the 'Show' tab. You will have five options ranging from 25 messages to 200 recent messages. The fewer is the best option because it will take less time to load and save battery. Check the "25 Recent Messages" option. Navigate back to the 'Mail' then to Settings.

7. While still viewing your settings check to see if your Wi-Fi is 'On' or 'Off'. If not using your Wi-Fi currently tap the tab and turn it to the 'Off' position. Then you can navigate back to the settings area.

8. Press the home button. You are all done and ready to add at least an hour to your battery usage life. Possibly more. I can easily use my iPhone all day doing lots of tasks and calls.

Choose A Scooter

Scooters offer reliable, low-cost transportation.

Choosing a scooter takes research into the different features available on different models. Basic questions to ask yourself when shopping are how you plan to use the scooter, whether your budget allows for a new or used model, the horsepower you'll need for the intended use, and whether the scooter will be your primary method of daily transportation or a recreational vehicle for weekend joyriding. Either way, getting 120 miles or more per gallon is a powerful draw for buying any scooter.

Instructions

1. Decide whether you'll use the scooter for daily transportation or occasional jaunts. Daily transportation demands a reliable and fuel-efficient vehicle, so a new scooter is probably the best choice. A used scooter or a less expensive, less powerful model is perfectly adequate for weekend rides.

2. Choose a new or used scooter depending on your budget and intended use. You can save money on a used scooter if it's a vintage model or Italian-built, such as a Vespa. A used Vespa may be just as dependable as a factory-fresh scooter made by a different manufacturer. Vespas also have a reputation for being easier to repair, and replacement parts are readily available.

3. Look for convenience features such as automatic transmission, one-touch electronic starters and below-the-seat storage.

4. Decide how much horsepower you need for your scooter. Most states have minimum speed laws and engine requirements for highway driving, so the scooter will have to be street-legal if your daily commute involves the freeway. Check the laws in your state before buying a scooter for highway driving. A scooter with a smaller engine, such as a 50cc motor, is equivalent to approximately 5 horsepower and can reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. Scooters equipped with larger engines (150cc or more) can go up to 65 miles per hour.

Buy 1 Stock

Many people collect shares of stock as art (scripophily) or as decorative curios. Some people give a share of stock to commemorate the birth of a child, a graduation or other important life event. A few of the most popular certificates for these purposes are those of the Walt Disney Company, Playboy, Google, Harley-Davidson and others that have attractive graphics. Some people don't purchase single shares for the certificates; they are interested in accumulating investment positions on a dollar-cost-average basis through small purchases at regular intervals over time.

Instructions

Your Choices When Buying Only a Single Share of Stock

1. If you don't mind whose name is on the certificate, you can find very attractive antique stock certificates in antique stores, rare book stores and other places where you might find antique graphics.

2. If you are particular about whose name appears as the owner of the certificate, you may want to purchase it from your broker, have the certificate delivered and frame it yourself.

3. Many companies will sell you a single share of their common stock. This is called a direct purchase plan, and most large companies have this service available.

4. Some retailers specialize in displaying attractive stock certificates for you to choose from and will handle the purchase, registration and framing of the certificate.

5. If you care only about being able to invest a small amount of money on a regular basis and accumulating a position one share at a time, you should ask your broker or open an account at Sharebuilder, a company that specializes in small investments in stock.

Tune Gear Ratios

Eventually, choosing larger gears will only slow you down.

Gears do more than transfer rotational power from one source to another; they can adjust the rotational speed as well. That's what transmissions and drive-lines do. Few people, other than road racers, experiment more with gearing combinations - for cars or motorcycles. You can begin with engineering data if you want. You can start with an educated guess. What is most important isn't where you begin with your gear combinations; it's the detailed and scientific process you employ to track the results of your experiments. That's what produces optimum results, transferring engine power to your tires.

Instructions

1. Try new gears and combinations of gears, systematically. Start with all the math you want, but the only real proof of an optimum gearing combination is in the results. Start with a combination of gears you think will work, then make minor and incremental adjustments, interchanging gears with slightly larger or smaller gears.

2. Record and compare the results of each new combination systematically and accurately. However you choose to test the results of your gear ratio combinations, keep a journal noting each variable that may affect your outcome. For example, if you're testing gearing on a race track, don't just record your times, record any other changes such as temperature that may account for variations in results.

3. Make your selections incrementally. For example, if you're selecting motorcycle sprocket ratios, don't go from an 18-tooth front sprocket to a 22, unless you have data based on your tests to believe 22 will be optimum. After you try an 18-tooth, try a 19-tooth and so on. This will help you plot more accurate results, which can produce more valuable patterns in your data, in turn resulting in better information to base your final gearing decisions on.

4. Isolate the primary gears and the secondary gears. From your engine's drive-line, you will have a primary drive gear, then one or more subsequent gears. If you skip back and forth, switching out primary gears, then secondary gears or one specific transmission gears, the results may not produce valuable information. Isolating one type of gear at a time, such as primary and secondary gears, is imperative to producing useable data to make gearing choices.

5. Keep records after you've made your selection. Don't just go through a round of testing, then make a decision. Keep race records or performance records, noting what your gear ratios are as they may offer you clues about continually develop optimum performance.

Ironhead Motor Specifications

In 1957 the Harley-Davidson XL Sportster rolled off the line with an 883 cc Ironhead motor

The Harley-Davidson Ironhead motor is the main reason for the enduring success of the Sportster. Considered by many Sportster purists as the last real Harley engine, the Ironhead is the throbbing powerhouse that lends heart and soul to a long line of Sportsters produced from 1957 to 1985. Whether tearing up the asphalt on city streets, kicking up the dust on country roads, or star performer of the racing circuit, the Ironhead motor stood the test of time for nearly thirty years --- succeeded by the Evolution motor in 1986.

Birth of the Ironhead Motor

From 1929 through 1951 Harley-Davidson produced a series of motorcycles featuring V-twin engines with 45 cubic inch, or 750 cc, displacement. However, the popularity of its British rival's sports bikes --- such as BSA, Norton and Triumph --- indicated some serious engine-tweaking was necessary to stay alive in the fiercely competitive motorcycle market.

In 1952 the Harley engineers mimicked the British sports bike setup to produce the K series models with 54 cubic inch, or 883 cc, engines. Further modifications to the K in 1957 gave birth to the XL Sportster and thus began the Ironhead era.

Although the XL engine displaced the same 883 cc as the earlier K, KH and KHK, it had a larger bore and shorter stroke. This resulted in a better breathing engine producing higher rpm and a higher cruising speed.

1957 Ironhead Specifications

Most motorcycle manufacturers of the time used alloy heads in their engines; they ran cooler and lasted longer. Harley choose to use cast iron heads and cylinders for the 1957 Sportster XL. One reason for doing this, according to Allan Girdler in his article, The Sportster Era, in the book, "The Harley-Davidson Century," may be that the Panhead motor originally leaked, so the engineers decided to take the safer route of cast iron for the XL.

The overhead-valve engine had a horsepower rating of 40, marginally faster than the K's 38 horsepower, with engine compression of 7.5:1 and a 90-degree valve angle.

1958 Ironhead Specifications

In 1958 the XLCH emerged --- a stripped down, faster and lighter version of the XL. It is unclear what the CH suffix means, but some sources believe it stands for "Competition Hot," while others say the H stands for "High Pressure," as it was a higher-compression version of the XL. Nevertheless, the XLCH remained a best-seller, outperforming the English 750 cc sport bikes in the speed department.

1972 to 1985 Ironhead Specifications

In 1972 the cylinders of the XLCH, bored to 3.188 inches, increased displacement of the Ironhead to 61 cubic inches or 1,000 cc. By this time, Harley-Davidson was a division of American Machine & Foundry (AMF), and AMF allowed minor annual modifications --- the Sportster saw no significant changes until the Evolution motor came along in 1986.

Fix A Computer Video With Intermittent Stop & Start

Hard drive problems can lead to choppy video.

Playing video is one of the great advantages of today's high-powered computers and plentiful bandwidth. Problems with choppy playback usually stem from one of two problems: limited bandwidth and computer memory problems. By addressing these two issues, you should be able to avoid and fix problems with intermittent stop-and-start video playback.

Instructions

Streaming Video

1. Open the "Control Panel" from the Start Menu.

2. Open the "Network Connections" icon in the Control Panel. This will open a window showing any active and inactive Internet connections, as well as connections to any internal networks, for instance, an office.

3. Right-click the active Internet connection icon and select "Status" from the submenu. This will open a window that, among other things, displays the current connection speed in Mbps or Kbps. According to Microsoft Tech Center, each user should have at least 1.5 Mbps bandwidth for acceptable performance.

4. Right-click the Internet connection icon again and select "Disable" if the bandwidth is less than 1.5 Mbps.

5. Right-click the icon to the now inactive connection and press "Enable." The connection is now reset. If it is still not faster, you either need a faster connection or to get other users off the network. If you are downloading large files or streaming multiple videos at once, this can also affect bandwidth and, in turn, streaming video performance.

Desktop Video

6. Press "Ctrl+Alt+Del" to pull up the Task Manager. This will show all of the currently running applications.

7. Shut down any unnecessary applications. This will free up RAM and improve video performance.

8. Right-click the "C:" drive in "My Computer" and choose "Properties." This will pull up a window showing the amount of space left on the drive. If there is less than 25 percent of the disk remaining, this may be affecting video performance by eating into the RAM.

9. Press the "Disk Cleanup" button in the "C:" drive Properties menu. Follow the prompts to delete temporary and unnecessary files that may be cluttering the drive.

10. Press the "Defragment Now" button from the Tools tab in the "C:" drive Properties menu. Defragmenting the hard drive consolidates data clusters and allows the motherboard to access them with greater efficiency, improving overall performance, especially in high data-use programs, like video playback.

If none of these solutions works, the computer simply may not have enough memory or an adequate video card to allow smooth play of video.

Ride A Motorcycle For The First Time

Get all of the braking and shifting done before you start your turn.

Learning ride a motorcycle is a challenging endeavor that can open a new world of adventure, even if you're just riding to work. While knowing ride a bicycle and drive a car can be beneficial, riding a motorcycle safely depends on your ability to learn and apply a new set of skills quite different from those needed by any other form of vehicle. Start slowly and practice away from traffic until you are comfortable with your machine before heading out onto the open road.

Instructions

1. Approach the motorcycle from its left side. Grasp the handlebars with both hands and pull in the front brake lever, located on the right handlebar, to engage the front brake. Swing your right leg over the motorcycle until you are straddling the rider's seat. Lift the motorcycle up into a vertical position. Raise the kickstand with your left heel and release the front brake lever.

2. Familiarize yourself with the motorcycle's control layout. The starter button and kill switch is housed within the switch assembly on the right handlebar, accompanied by the front brake lever and throttle twist-grip. The left handlebar switch assembly contains the horn, turn signal and headlight dimmer switches as well as the clutch lever. A pedal near the right foot peg controls the rear brake, while the lever near the left foot peg is used to shift gears. The motorcycle's ignition switch is usually found in front of the handlebars, but may also be placed near the front fork.

3. Turn the motorcycle on, using the ignition key. A green light should illuminate on the motorcycle's speedometer, indicating that the motorcycle is in neutral. Reach under the left side of the fuel tank and turn the fuel valve lever to the "On" position. Pull in the clutch lever. Set the kill switch to the "Run" or "On" position. Pull in the front brake lever and push the starter button until the engine starts. Slowly release the front brake and clutch levers.

4. Pull in the clutch lever. Push the shift lever downward with your left foot until it clicks into first gear. Release the clutch lever slowly until the motorcycle starts to roll forward. Twist the throttle grip backward slightly with your right hand to provide gas and continue to release the clutch lever slowly. Roll the throttle grip back further, once the clutch lever releases completely to increase forward speed.

5. Pull the clutch lever in and roll the throttle grip forward to close the throttle. Push the shift lever upward with a firm press of the tip of your left foot to shift into second gear. Release the clutch lever and roll the throttle grip back to open the throttle. Repeat to shift into a higher gear as your speed increases.

6. Pull in the front brake lever, using your right index and middle fingers, to reduce your speed. Alternatively, push down on the rear brake pedal with your right foot to activate the rear brake. Use a light, progressive motion to engage either brake, opposed to a sudden pull or push that could lock the brake and cause an accident. The front brake can and should be used for most situations. Use both front and rear brakes for additional stopping power or during emergencies.

7. Pull the clutch lever in and roll the throttle grip forward to close the throttle. Push down on the shift lever with your left foot to shift down into a lower gear. Roll the throttle grip back quickly to rev the engine slightly, and then release the clutch lever. The slight increase in engine speed prevents the motorcycle from jerking or lurching while shifting into a lower gear. Repeat to shift into a higher gear as your speed increases.

8. Initiate a turn by looking at the starting point of the turn. Roll the throttle grip forward and slow down, using the front brake. Shift into a lower gear as needed. Push the handlebar closest to the direction of the turn forward to lean the motorcycle into the turn. Look at the end of the turn. Roll the throttle grip back slowly as you pass the tightest point, or apex, of the turn. Push the handlebar facing away from the turn to lift the motorcycle back into an upright position. Accelerate away from the turn.

9. Roll the throttle grip forward and slow the motorcycle to a stop, using both brakes. Pull in the clutch lever and shift down into first gear. Tap the shift lever upward light with the tip of your left foot to shift into neutral, indicated by a green light on the speedometer. Release the clutch lever. Deploy the kickstand with your left heel, and then lower the motorcycle onto it. Set the kill switch to "Off" or "Stop," and then turn the ignition switch off and remove the key. Hold the front brake lever in place and dismount the motorcycle from its left side.

Install Dual Exhaust Systems

Dual exhaust systems let your engine run cooler, decreasing the inherent back pressure and increasing horsepower for better performance. As the exhaust exits the car more freely, you will notice faster acceleration, stronger passing power and a terrific sound. As long as the muffler and pipes in the exhaust system are installed properly, your car will almost feel brand new.

Instructions

1. Select parts that are sized properly for your car. Higher-quality exhaust systems take advantage of mandrel-bent pipes and mimic the look of the original car parts. Your local auto shop may build custom dual exhaust systems, but they are probably created with generic parts and fit poorly.

2. Pick a kit that includes all clamps, hangers and hardware, so you will not be searching for pieces to complete the installation.

3. Stop blowing gaskets by using a steel donut gasket when connecting the manifold. The steel resists heat better than other gaskets, while sealing the pipe and manifold together.

4. Position exhaust pipes to clear both the floorpan and the driveshaft by at least 1 inch. When finalizing the setting, remember that the shaft moves up and down with rear axle, and the pipes must clear it completely.

5. Use factory muffler positioning to make most exhaust systems a simple bolt-on installation. If you place your muffler differently, the pipes may need to be bent accordingly. Hanging mufflers higher may require you to drill into the floorpan to hang them.

6. Mount tailpipe hangers near the frame rail to prevent the pipes from noticeably rattling. Brackets should face the front of the car in most cases. Your exhaust kit should come with the proper hangers, but you may have to have a few self-tapping bolts on hand.

7. Check the clearance before completely tightening all bolts. Things move as you attach other parts, so make sure there is still a 1-inch clearance. Rotate the rear axle to make sure the driveshaft doesn't rub against the muffler.

Get An Appraised Value Of My Crashed Harley

When a person crashes his vehicle, he will often seek to determine the value of the automobile before attempting repairs. If the vehicle is too badly damaged, it may make more sense to scrap it for parts than to attempt to repair it. In the case of a crashed Harley, there are a number of different parties who can provide an appraisal of what the bike may be worth.

Harley Dealerships

Because Harleys often require specialized maintenance, many dealerships also double as repair shops. Often a dealership will sell not just new, but used Harleys. In this case it can make sense for you to take your crashed Harley to a dealership, which can give you both a guess as to the cost of repairs and a rough estimate of what they would be willing to pay for it.

Insurance Company

If you have car insurance -- which you should, given that it's illegal to drive without it -- your insurance company will send out an appraiser who will estimate the damage to your vehicle. The insurance company will provide you with an estimated cost of repairs, and the market value of the vehicle in its current state. Beware that insurance companies tend to come in low when estimating repair costs.

Professional Appraisers

There are a number of companies that specialize in the appraisal of vehicles. Some companies specialize in the appraisal of motorcycles and will be able to provide, for a fee, a guess as to how much your hog will fetch on the open market. In some cases, these companies may also be willing to make you an offer on the vehicle, so if you're interested in selling you can kill two birds with one stone.

Considerations

When considering selling your vehicle make sure you get multiple estimates as to its value before offering it for sale. When you do list it for sale, if you're not in a hurry, try doing so at several prices, to see what kind of offers you can get on it. The only real way of knowing what a crashed Harley will fetch on the open market -- as the damage done by every crash is different -- is to put it on the block.

Fix An Iphone That Won'T Save Pictures

iphone blank screen

Sometimes when using the iPhone to take a picture, the picture will not save. Operating the camera seems perfectly normal, but when you go to the Camera Roll you see only a blank square where the picture should be. This error is not particular to any certain version of the iPhone OS, and running updates, resetting the phone, even a hard reset, will not solve the problem. Here's what you have to do.

Instructions General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings. It will give you a warning. Hit "Erase iPhone."

The iPhone will now show you an Apple logo and a progress bar. Once it's finished it will tell you that the iPhone has been activated. You now have a completely blank iPhone.

4. Reconnect the iPhone to iTunes. It will ask you if you want to restore your software. Click the button to Restore. When it is finished it will restart the phone and ask if you want to restore a backup. DO NOT restore the backup and disconnect the iPhone from the computer.

Note: If you did restore the backup, the problem will not be fixed and you'll have to start all of the steps over.

5. Try to take a picture and then check the Camera Roll. You should see the picture, and not a blank square anymore.

6. Reconnect the iPhone to the computer. Still, DO NOT restore the backup yet. Open iPhoto and import the photo choosing "Keep Originals." Do not delete the photo.

7. Now you can restore your iPhone backup. All of the personal information that was previously deleted should be restored and you should be able to take pictures normally again.

The Mitsubishi Mu2 Performance Specs

Mitsubishi produced the MU-2 aircraft in four models: Marquis, MU-2F, MU-2J and the Solitaire. Each version employed the use of a different engine; however, Garrett AiResearch manufactured every motor for the MU-2 line. The MU-2 line gained a reputation as one of Japan's most successful post-war aircraft for both civilian and military purposes.

Marquis

A pair of Garrett TPE-331-10-501M turbo-prop engines powered the Marquis, efficiently generating 778 shaft horsepower each as well as 5,400 hours of flying -- time between overhauls, or tbo. They allowed for a maximum takeoff weight of 11,575 lbs., a maximum ramp weight of 11,625 lbs. and a zero fuel weight of 9,950 lbs. The engines provided the Marquis with a basic operating weight of 9,985 lbs. and a maximum landing capacity of 11,125 lbs. The Marquis had a takeoff performance of 2,170 feet when carrying only the pilot, 4,375 when carrying an additional seven passengers and requires a landing strip of 1,880 feet.

MU-2F

Dual Garrett TPE-331-1-151A engines powered the MU-2F, producing 665 shaft horsepower each which required 3,600 tbo. It had a maximum takeoff weight of 9,920 lbs., a maximum ramp weight of 9,920 lbs. and a zero fuel weight of 3,420 lbs. The aircraft performed basic operating functions when weighted with 7,200 lbs. and could safely land weighing 9,435 lbs. Its takeoff performance carrying only the operator equaled 2,415 feet, 3,445 feet when carrying a full passenger load and required 1,320 feet to land.

MU-2J

A pair of Garrett model number TPE-331-10AV's powered the MU-2J, creating 725 shaft horsepower that required 5,400 tbo. It had a maximum ramp weight of 10,850 lbs., a maximum takeoff weight of 10,800 lbs. and a zero fuel weight of 9,950 lbs. The engines provided the MU-2J with a basic operating weight of 7,700 lbs., and could properly land weighing 10,260 lbs. The MU-2J had a takeoff performance of 1,870 lbs. and required an FAA field length of 1,770 feet.

Solitaire

The Mitsubishi Solitaire used two Garrett model number TPE-331-10-501M's as its power sources, generating 727 shaft horsepower and 5,400 tbo. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 10,470 lbs., a maximum ramp weight of 10,520 lbs. and a zero fuel weight of 9,700 lbs. The plane had a basic operating weight of 7,410 lbs., a takeoff performance of 1,800 feet carrying only the pilot and required 1,600 feet of FAA field distance to land.

The Impact Of Barbie

Young girls are vulnerable to body image distortions in popular culture.

Barbie made her big entrance into the world in 1959, stepping out in her iconic striped swimsuit and blonde coif at the American Toy Fair in New York City. The Barbie doll was an instant hit, and has remained a favorite for young girls the world over ever since. She's been both hailed as an empowering role model for girls who aspire to powerful careers, and decried as a symbol of materialism and unhealthy body image.

Empowerment

Over the years, Barbie has taken on a variety of roles: astronaut, Olympic athlete, doctor, ballerina, cowgirl, pop star, military service woman, even a Harley-Davidson biker. In some cases -- as with the her incarnation as a female astronaut -- this imaginary, independent woman of the world took career paths not yet open to real-world women. To many young girls, this sends a powerful message that anything is possible.

Materialism

Despite her "can-do" attitude, even Barbie has limits. A majority of the Barbie doll's incarnations over the years have highlighted fashion, accessories, cars and homes, all in that never-ending quest for perfection. That focus on appearance has led many to charge that Barbie places far too much emphasis on material possessions, putting pressure on girls to attain things, rather than achieve goals.

Unrealistic Body Image

Perhaps no aspect of Barbie has received more criticism than her physical dimensions. It's estimated that if Barbie were enlarged to life size, she would measure 36-18-38 and, at less an 17 percent body fat, her body would be unable to support normal menstruation. A 2005 study of 162 girls aged 5 to 8, published by the American Psychological Association, noted that exposure to the Barbie doll caused lowered body esteem and a greater desire for a thinner body that could lead to unhealthy eating behaviors in the youngest subjects.

Considerations

The APA study suggests that Barbie's influence on negative body image may be negligible after the age of 7 or 8, when girls begin to internalize body image and rely less on external environmental influences on body image. The study suggests that there is a need to make young girls aware that Barbie and other make-believe figures represent unattainable, unhealthy beauty ideals. More important, parents and caregivers need to refocus youngsters' attention on sources of self-esteem that do not rely solely on appearance.

The Best Way To Sell A Harley Davidson

The Best Way to Sell a Harley Davidson

Harley Davidson is a popular American motorcycle manufacturer. Often known simply as Harleys, the Wisconsin-founded company is one of only two motorcycle manufacturing companies that survived the Great Depression. Highly customizable, they have a distinct silhouette that has borne them a loyal following. Harley Davidson motorcycles are always in high demand, which makes them relatively easy to sell, as long as a few key points are kept in mind.

Pricing

You must price your Harley competitively if you want to sell it. Check out prices of similar models but if none are available for sale, you can use the following method to set a fairly sensible price for your Harley.

NADA guides can give you a base price from which to start. Adjust your price depending on the condition of your Harley. The lower the mileage, the higher the price you can charge. Also, upgrades will increase the value of your bike Consider the typical costs of new upgrades and adjust accordingly. Also, because motorcycles are usually luxury items, market slumps may affect pricing.

Listing

Although you need to paint a flattering picture of your motorcycle when listing it, be honest in your advertisement. For example, if it is slightly damaged, don't state that it is "as new."

List your Harley where people are likely to be looking for motorcycles. This includes resources such as the official Harley Davidson website under "Used Bikes" and eBay. If you list both online and in the newspaper in your area, you increase your chances of getting a buyer.

VIN Numbers

When selling your Harley Davidson, you should be aware of what the buyer will be looking for. VIN numbers are the primary way that a buyer knows that the motorcycle they are buying is legal, so be sure that your Harley not only has them, but that you can readily point them out.

You can find VIN numbers on the left side of the engine case for pre-1961 models; on the engine base for models made between 1962 and 1969; on the frame and the engine case for 1970 to 1980 models and only on the frame for post-1970 models.

If your registration and your VIN numbers don't match up because of a typo, go to your local department of motor vehicles to get it remedied.

Customize A Harley Davidson Road King Classic

There are many ways to customize you Harley Davidson Road King Classic.

Customizing motorcycles has been common since the 1940s, and there are many things you can do to personalize your bike. Harley Davidsons have been at the forefront of this movement and, despite being arguably the most popular and iconic mark in motorcycling, there are certain customizations that can be made to improve the looks and performance of your Road King Classic.

Instructions

1. Customize the paint work. The most popular and distinguishing thing you can change on your bike is personalizing the paint work. There are many designs that can be put on the bodywork by a professional, or you can use stencils and spray paint to add basic designs.

2. Change the exhaust. This is the most common form of motorcycle customization on all bikes, not just Harley Davidsons. Exhausts can be changed very quickly and can reduce the weight of the bike and improve the performance.

3. Add storage to the bike. Be it through saddlebags, pillion boxes or tank bags, it is important to make sure you have enough storage if you are traveling long distances.

4. Install new or adjust original handlebars. It is important to make sure you are comfortable when riding your bike, and this can be achieved by altering or changing the handlebars. New handlebars can raise or lower the bar height and can reduce the overall weight. Original handlebars are adjustable, allowing you to move them to a comfortable position.

5. Change the tires. New tires can offer better grip. The rear wheel, especially, will need to be changed periodically as part of maintenance.

6. Attach new wheels. New rims can be lighter and offer you a different choice of tires, both of which can improve performance.

7. Install new suspension. New shock absorbers can improve the ride comfort, which is important on long journeys.

Harleydavidson Bathroom Decorations

Harley-Davidson enthusiasts see their bikes as works of art.

Anyone who drives a Harley-Davidson or admires the style sees the machine as a bit of art, so it's natural that some people have dedicated a corner of their homes to decorate in Harley style. The Harley-Davidson influence will even work in an area as small as the bathroom. Does this Spark an idea?

Spirit of the Decor

Decide what Harley-Davidson means to you. Is it the lure of the open road, the science of the machinery, or the social interaction with other Harley riders that you most enjoy? Your bathroom decor can be directly affected by which of these points most appeals to you. For instance, if the social interaction is most important, frame a picture of you and your friends riding down the road or posing outside one of your favorite haunts.

Harley Colors

Incorporate the Harley-Davidson colors of black, white and orange into your bathroom, whether it's on the walls, in the shower curtain or the area rug. As a fun accent, paint flames coming up the wall from the floor. Get a friend to help you dip a motorcycle tire in black paint and run it at an angle up the wall for a quirky touch.

Odds and Ends

Mount a pair of motorcycle handlebars on the wall as towel racks, use a Harley-Davidson beer stein as a toothbrush holder, or frame pictures from old Harley-Davidson catalogues to hang on the wall as art.

Harley Seat Modification

Harley-Davidson riders normally enjoy spending a lot of time on the road, but often cringe at the thought of an extended stay on their motorcycle's saddle. While Harley-Davidson designs the seats to maximize the rider's comfort, they are made to fit as broad a range of body types as possible, and often may not fit you perfectly. A few miles on an ill-fitting seat can create painful pressure points between the bottom of your spinal cord and your pelvic bones. However, a few modifications can be made to your Harley's seat to alleviate this condition.

Instructions

1. Park your Harley-Davidson on its side stand, then sit on it in your usual riding position. Do your buttocks feel supported on the seat or does the seat force you to place too much weight forward and against the handlebars? Take note of any immediate discomfort that you may feel from the seat, then go for a long ride to determine the seat's long-term effects on your comfort. Make mental notes of any discomfort around your buttocks, tail bone or wrists as you ride. Write your findings on a notepad when you return home.

2. Remove the seat from your Harley-Davidson. Unfasten its rear mounting bolt, which is on a metal bracket at the end of the seat, using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Lift the seat up, then pull it away from the catch below the gas tank.

3. Flip the seat over and remove the cover. Use a small pry bar or staple remover to pull the seat cover staples from the bottom of the plastic seat pan. Gently peel the seat cover away from the bottom of the seat pan until it is completely removed.

4. Flip the seat over with the top facing up. Refer to your notes to determine what changes need to be made to the seat's foam cushion. If you have been sitting too far forward, indicated by aching wrists, the seat's pitch, or slope from the rear to the front, must be built up slightly. Alternatively, discomfort around your tail bone and buttocks is an indication that the seat is not cradling your underside sufficiently. Mark the areas of the seat that need modification using a permanent marker.

5. Reduce the pitch of the seat by shaving away a small portion of material from the top of the seat's foam cushion with an angle grinder. Only remove enough material to level the top of the cushion.

6. Cut away some of the foam cushion material with your angle grinder to create a scooped-out area to improve the seat's ability to cradle your buttocks. This section runs across the width of the seat cushion.

7. Use scissors to cut several pieces of high-density foam into the rough shapes needed to fill in the shaved seat foam. Create a wide piece of foam to fill in the section that runs across the seat cushion, extending slightly over its sides. Also cut a slightly triangular section of foam to create a nose at the front of the seat, using several layers of high-density foam.

8. Spray the bottom of the high-density foam pieces and the top of the shaved sections with spray adhesive. Allow the adhesive to set for 20 seconds, then place the foam pieces on the cushion.

9. Shape the new foam sections with your angle grinder until they are contoured to the shape of the seat.

10. Spray the top of the seat with adhesive, then place the cover over the seat. Pull the edges of the seat cover tightly around the bottom of the plastic seat pan and staple it in place with an electric staple gun.

11. Reinstall the seat on your Harley-Davidson, slipping the metal tongue under the nose of the seat into the catch below the gas tank. Lower the seat onto the rear fender, then fasten its mounting bolt in place with a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Waterproof A Leather Jacket

Protect your leather jacket

Of all the materials used for clothing the human body, leather has not only the longest history but probably is one of the best-loved materials. From the era cave dwellers to the era of jet engines and chrome motorcycles, leather garments have been valued for their comfort and durability as well as their beauty and status. Thus they are expensive, long-lasting, and demand an extra degree of care. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Select a suede or nubuck treatment for a suede jacket. The split hide used to create suede would react negatively to any oil base cream, lotion, or spray and would discolor and change the texture of the leather. Only a few acryllic spray conditioners are formulated not to harm suede, so select carefully. Though they cannot be expected to make the jacket waterproof, they may improve the garment's resistance to moisture. Always test a new treatment in an inconspicuous spot--under a collar or on a hem or seam allowance.

2. Choose a leather protectant product manufactured without mineral oil or petroleum products for a smooth leather jacket not likely to be exposed to extreme weather conditions. These protective products, some of which are highly recommended, will not make the jacket completely waterproof but will make it water-repellent and less likely to mildew, crack, or discolor. Generally, these are sold in spray containers that recommend spraying very lightly several times, allowing the garment to dry between applications. Test-spray in an inconspicuous place first.

3. Purchase a conditioning and waterproofing product intended for heavy-duty leathers that may be exposed to exteme weather conditions. These organic or synthetic and organic compounds are sold

in the forms of oils, waxes, or dressings and are applied with a soft cloth or brush and rubbed in as thoroughly as possible. The user then follows the application with a clean cloth or brush to remove any excess. Allow to dry overnight.

What Is A Coil Pair Of Stamps

Coil stamps are often collected as attached pairs.

The U.S. Postal Service sells stamps in different formats to meet the needs of different users. In addition to the familiar sheets of stamps, the U.S. Postal Service offers strips of stamps rolled up into coils of 50 to 10,000 stamps to meet the needs of mass mailers and vending machine operators, but anyone can buy them. Foreign postal administrations also issue stamps in the coil format. United States stamps are produced to Postal Service order by the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C.

What's A Coil Pair?

Coil stamps have two parallel smooth edges and two parallel perforated edges. The design can be oriented either horizontally or vertically. A coil pair is simply two coil stamps that have not been separated. According to "Linn's Stamp News," some stamp collectors prefer their coil stamps in pairs to better display their distinctive smooth edges. In addition to traditional water-activated adhesive stamps, the Postal Service also issues self-sticking coil stamps with two smooth edges and two die-cut edges that simulate perforations, or with smooth edges all around. These also are collected in pairs.

History

Coil stamps date back to October 1906 when the U.S. Post Office Department, forerunner of the U.S. Postal Service, began selling sheets of stamps without perforations that private companies would slice into strips, then perforate and paste together into coils. According to Linn's, the Post Office Department began selling its own coil stamps in 1908 and in 1927 stopped selling the non-perforated sheets to private coil makers. Great Britain was the second nation to issue coil stamps--in 1912. Other countries followed.

Coil Line Pairs

There's a coil pair variety that's distinguished by a thin printed line between the two stamps. Collectors call these line pairs and may pay a premium for them because they occur infrequently. The line occurs when ink collects in the joint between sections of the printing plates, and prints a line on the white space between stamps.

Plate Number Coils

The Postal Service in 1981 inadvertently created another major coil variety when it ordered that printing plate numbers be printed on the coil stamps for improved quality control, rather than putting plate numbers on the printing selvage that gets trimmed off. Collectors of these plate number coils, or PNCs, collect them in mint strips of three or five stamps with the stamp bearing the plate number in the center, or as used single stamps. The Plate Number Coil Collectors' Club says a plate number typically occurs once per 52 coil stamps but can also occur more frequently depending on the stamp design. The club says coil plate numbers are found in the margin below the stamp design.

Other Ways to Collect Coils

Coil stamps offer other options for collectors, according to Linn's. Some collectors specialize in the private stamp-coil makers operating in the U.S. from 1906 to 1927, each of whom used distinctive perforations that differed by number, size and pattern. Other collectors specialize in the coil issues and coil varieties from Britain, Sweden, Germany and other countries.

Signs Of A Dying Graphics Card

The significant cost of graphics cards combined with the increasing dependence of applications on high-quality video content, such as Windows Aero, make it important for computer users to know properly diagnose a failing graphics card. Luckily, there are simple signs and tests that can be performed by any computer user to make the determination that a new graphics card is needed.

Loud Fan Noises

If the graphics card is presenting with louder than normal fan operation it can be a sign of a dying graphics card. Typically, graphics cards will increase their fan speed if the GPU temperature begins to reach a critical limit. The cause of this is often dust and dander that have collected on the blades of the graphics card cooling fan. Though this is not a direct indication of a dying graphics card, running a graphics card in a high-temperature state can quickly destroy the GPU. A simple test to determine if your GPU has been thermally damaged is to clean the graphics card's fan using a can of compressed air. If the sound is no longer present then the noise was caused by dust and not a failing graphics card.

Artifacts

Graphical artifacts are sections of misrendered pixels that stand out significantly when displayed on the computer's monitor. The presence of graphical artifacts is symptomatic of a failing graphics card. Artifacts usually show up as randomly miscolored pixels in a mosaic-like pattern. The presence of artifacts signify that any one of the graphics card subsystems--such as its memory or GPU--has failed.

Misplaced Textures

Graphical textures are the color patterns applied to 3D geometry to give it the look of skin or clothing. The graphics card's texture engine and texture memory are responsible for aligning the texture pictures to the geometry's edges. Missing textures or textures that are applied incorrectly can occur when a graphics card is failing. Misaligned textures severely distort the image rendered onto the computer monitor and are easily seen.

Blue Screen of Death

Often a graphics card will not show signs of failure until it is stressed. Playing high-detail video games or performing parallel computing through CUDA, the Nvidia graphics programming technology, can stress the card into its failure state. If you perform these activities and you see a recurring BSOD or your computer completely freezes up, sometimes with a concurrent repeating sound clip, your graphics card may be on its way to a failure.

Testing and Recourse

Utilizing a program such a 3D Mark Vantage will stress your graphics hardware and expose most failures during the benchmark. Also, simply loading a high-definition video game and changing all settings to the highest possible will adequately stress a graphics card to reveal failures if they exist.

If you find your graphics card is failing, you should contact the manufacturer immediately to discuss warranty terms and the possibility of getting an RMA. Surprisingly, most companies warranty their graphics cards for terms from three to five years. The EVGA graphics card company offers lifetime warranties on their merchandise.

Always check with your manufacturer and never assume you are beyond your warranty. Sometimes you may be given an exchange even if your warranty has expired in an effort for the company to keep your business.
