The Harley-Davidson FLH comes standard with front and rear air suspension that can be adjusted by the individual rider to suit personal preference. Increasing or decreasing the pressure in the air shocks will result in a stiffer or softer ride, respectively. Harley recommends 1 to 3 lb. per square inch (psi) of pressure for the average rider, with an additional 3 to 5 psi added for a passenger. In any case, let personal comfort and riding style be your final guide for how much pressure to add to your ride.
Instructions
1. Open the lid to the right-side saddle bag. Twist the bail head studs counter-clockwise 1/4 turn and remove them. Lift the saddle bag off the frame and place in a safe, out-of-the-way place.
2. Remove the valve covers to the air suspension valves located on the right side of the frame near the saddle bag mounts.
3. Attach a no-loss air suspension pump and gauge to the front valve. Read the amount of pressure currently in the front forks on the gauge. Add or remove pressure using the pump. Remove the pump from the valve and re-install the valve cover.
4. Attach the pump to the rear air valve and read the amount of pressure currently in the rear forks on the gauge. Add or remove pressure to the rear forks using the pump. Remove the pump from the valve and re-install the valve cover.
5. Re-attach the saddle bag.
