The city maintains a wide array of colleges that cover the gamut from traditional liberal arts colleges to specific trade colleges.
El Centro College
El Centro College is part of the Dallas County Community College District. With the main campus in downtown Dallas, the focus of the community college is to service the population of the city of Dallas. The college also maintains a campus in the West Dallas community and it has an institute for economic development that provides workforce training, small business development and career services. The community college offers programs that lead to Associate degrees in science, arts and applied sciences.

Baylor College of Dentistry
Baylor College of Dentistry is a member of the Texas A&M University system and is part of the Texas A&M Health Science Center. The school offers both a Bachelor's and Master's degree program for dental hygienists, a doctor of dental surgery and various graduate programs. The graduate programs include biomedical sciences, Master of Science in health professions education and Master of Science in biomaterials science.

Art Institute of Dallas
The Art Institute of Dallas is part of The Art Institutes system and is located in downtown Dallas. This location puts the school in close proximity to the arts district, cultural attractions and entertainment that Dallas offers. The institute offers Associate and Bachelor degrees across the creative fields of culinary arts, design, fashion and media arts. The design programs cover the fields of graphic design, interior design and advertising design, while the media arts programs cover the fields of photography, web design, video production and digital film-making. Students interested in fashion can earn degrees in fashion design and fashion and retail management. Culinary students choose from specializations in baking and pastry, culinary arts, restaurant and catering management and culinary management.

Criswell College
The goal of Criswell College is to prepare students to serve in ministry leadership roles. The school offers diploma, Associate, Bachelor and Master degree programs. The diploma, Associate and Bachelor degree programs offer a major in biblical studies. Undergraduate students can choose from various minors, including biblical languages, humanities, Jewish studies and pastoral ministry. Students can earn two types of Master degrees: Master of Arts and Master of Divinity. The Master of Arts degree offers specializations in Christian leadership, Jewish studies, theological and biblical studies and counseling ministry.
