KSOC is more popularly known as K-Soul in the Dallas Metroplex. The station bills itself as "the soul of DFW" because it plays classic and contemporary R&B. The station is popular among internationally-known R&B artists as the celebrities are frequent guests on KSOC programs and perform at concerts sponsored by station. KSOC airs two popular syndicated shows among African Americans: "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" and "The Michael Baisden Show." The station is also streamed online. KSCS is a country music station that bills itself as "The Texas Original." After undergoing several name changes since it was founded in 1949, it became KSCS in 1973. KSCS hosts "The Dorsey Gang," one of the longest running morning shows in the area. The show is run by the award-winning duo of Terry Dorsey and Mark Louis. KHKS, more popularly known in the Dallas area as KISS FM, plays top 40 pop. It also has a slate of shows including the morning program "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" hosted by nationally-known radio personality Kidd Kraddick.
