Tell If You Have A Clear Line Of Sight For Directv Hd

DIRECTV is a digital broadcast satellite service that transmits digital satellite television and audio to residential and commercial subscribers. DIRECTV offers over 160 high-definition channels as an optional part of its subscription service. DIRECTV's satellites are always located south of Texas. When choosing a location to install your DIRECTV satellite dish, you will need to find a spot that has a clear line of sight in this direction.

Instructions

1. Find an outside location that has a clear line of sight toward Texas. For example, if you are in Los Angeles, you will want to find a location that points to the southeast. If you are in Miami, you want to find a location that points to the southwest and if you are in Texas, you need a location that points to the south.

2. Image an arc that starts at the location from Step 1 and extends from 30 to 60 degrees above the horizon.

3. Look at the sky. See if you have at least one clear line of sight within this arc. If you have a clear line of sight, the location is a suitable spot to install your satellite dish. If you do not have a clear line of sight, find another outdoor location and repeat this process.
