Harley-Davidson builds motorcycles with a reputation for self-expression. Everything from the paint, exhaust and many finer details can be modified to fit your tastes. Your air filter cover is one of the many smaller aspects that can benefit from an easy makeover. If you plan on replacing the insert with a custom-made insert, or if you will be choosing from one of the many designs offered by the Harley-Davidson Motor Co., installation is a simple process.
Instructions
1. Unscrew the air cleaner cover screws, and gently lift off the cover.
2. Carefully remove the original cover insert.
3. Clean the inner rim of the cover with a mixture of alcohol and distilled water. This will remove any remaining adhesive and debris.
4. Remove the paper liner from the adhesive backing on your new air cleaner insert, and place the insert into the air cleaner cover. Be careful not to adhere the insert to the cover at this time.
5. Align the top of the insert with the top of the cover.
6. Place the insert onto the cover, pressing firmly along the entire insert for 30 seconds. Allow the adhesive to cure for 20 minutes.
7. Reinstall the air cleaner cover on the motorcycle. Apply a drop of blue Loctite 243 on the threads of each screw before tightening.
The first Harley-Davidson motorcycle was introduced in the beginning of the 20th century and had little to offer the rider in creature comforts. Today, Harley-Davidsons are available with a wide array of accessories designed to make the riding experience enjoyable. One of these accessories is the Harley-Davidson detachable windshield. The windshield deflects wind, insects, and road grime from the rider, making a more comfortable and fatigue-free ride. The detachable windshield can be installed in just a few minutes with no tools.
Instructions
1. Place soft, clean rags on the headlamp assembly and at the forward edge of the fuel tank to avoid scratching or other damage while installing the windshield. Make sure the front wheel is pointing straight ahead so that the windshield brackets do not scratch the painted surface of the fuel tank.
2. Remove the old windshield (if equipped) by grasping it at its vertical edges. Pull the windshield forward to loosen it from the rubber bushings. Place the windshield aside once it has been completely freed of the bushings.
3. Install the new windshield by placing the hooks on the bottom bracket of the windshield assembly onto the channel of the rubber bushing on the spotlight mounting bracket.
4. Place the hooks on the top bracket of the windshield assembly onto the channel of the upper rubber bushings.
5. Push in on the windshield assembly firmly until it seats on all of the rubber bushings completely.
6. Move the handlebars back and forth to make sure the windshield and its brackets clear any obstructions before riding the motorcycle. Remove the protective rags.

Many desktop and laptop computer sellers that bundle Windows XP with your computer pre-install it and have stopped giving you the actual Windows XP install disk. If your computer gets fried or if you just want to do a clean reinstall, you'll need to buy another Windows XP license. Creating your own reinstall disk avoids this problem.
Instructions
Preparation
1. Back up your entire hard drive. Find a list of free hard disk backup software at thefreecountry.com (see Resources).
2. Locate your Windows XP license key (or product key) number. Often, this number will be taped to the side of your computer tower or the underside of your laptop. If you can't find it, see Resources for a list of free Key Finder programs.
3. Download \"wxp10,\" a Windows XP boot sector zip folder that comes on Windows XP install disks, from one of the download mirrors at Nu2.nu (see Resources).
4. Download and install the program ImgBurn at ImgBurn.com (see Resources).
Creating the Reinstall Disk Programs > Accessories). Type \"Windows\" (without quotes), then hit the space bar once, then hit enter once. Then go to File > Save and save the file as \"WIN51\" (this time, INCLUDE the quotes) in your reinstall folder. If your computer came with XP Home Edition, copy the WIN51 file and paste the copy in your reinstall folder under the name WIN51IC. If your computer came with XP Professional, do the same thing except name the copy WIN51IP.
9. Open the wxp10.zip folder. Navigate to cds > wxphome > files > w2ksect.bin. Drag the w2ksect.bin file to the root C drive folder (not to your reinstall folder).
10. Copy the text below verbatim and paste it in Notepad. Save the file (anywhere you like) with the name \"XPSETUP.ibb\" (quotes INCLUDED).
11. Open ImgBurn and select Mode > Build from the menu, then File > Load Project. In the box that pops up, navigate to the XPSETUP.ibb and hit \"Open.\"
12. Insert a blank CD or DVD into your CD/DVD burner. Wait a moment, then make sure the blank disk appears under ImgBurn's Destination section (which, depending on your version, will most likely be in the lower left corner of the window).
13. Click the Write or Build icon at the bottom of the ImgBurn window. If you get a \"You've only selected one folder, does it represent the root directory?\" warning, click Yes. The Windows XP reinstall disk will then be created.

There are many types of fungi that can be found on trees. Fungi they are primarily found near the base of the tree. The most common fungus is the root crown fungus, which survives around the bottom of the tree by consistently being moist. The fungus on your tree could spread disease and attract unwanted pests and animals. However, a fungus will die when it is exposed to air, which is why you want to control the soil and base of your tree so that it's not consistently moist. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Cut off or pluck out the fungus with your hands. Make sure to wear rubber gloves. Also, use a small shovel, if necessary, to remove the entire fungus by scrapping it off of the surface of your tree.
2. Remove any plants that help to trap moisture around your tree. For example, use gardening shears to cut off and remove any ivy or moss stuck to your tree.
3. Remove any leaves or plants on your tree's branches that are creating a constant dripping of water to the trunk of your tree. Use gardening shears and a ladder if necessary to carefully cut off these plants.
4. Spread a 1/4-inch layer of mulch around the trunk of your tree to prevent the ivy or other plants from returning. Also, be sure to remove any dirt around the root crown that could hold moisture to expose air to any returning fungus.
5. Reduce the amount of water that you give your tree while trying to eliminate the fungus. Never pour or spray water directly on the root crown or on the fungus. Make sure to also keep any sprinklers from spraying your tree.

That little red light on your speedometer usually doesn't have much to say, turning off just as soon as you've noticed it. But sometimes that light stays on, telling your something is wrong when it does. For the mechanically-inclined, this can be an opportunity to determine what's wrong before you take it to your local dealership for repairs.

The story of Harley Davidson USA -- or Harley-Davidson Motor Company as it is also known -- begins in 1903 with four young men building a single motorcycle in a small shed. Driven by a desire to understand and test internal combustion, the men built a motorcycle with an engine strong enough to last more than 100,000 miles -- under the operation of five owners. The following year, C.H. Lang of Chicago, IL, opened a dealership and sold one of the first three-produced Harley-Davidson motorcycles ever made. Today, new and used Harley Davidson motorcycles are sold all over the world. In 2010, the XL Forty-Eight was introduced worldwide. According to the Harley Davidson official website, the motorcycle reflects, "the raw, custom Sportsters of earlier days."
Instructions
1. Find a Harley Davidson used motorcycle dealer. A dealer locator tool is available on Harley Davidson's official website (see Resources). Search by location or dealer name. Enter your city and state or ZIP code when searching by location.
2. Ask the dealer about finance options. Private-label credit card financing is a common option; however, this type of financing is subject to interest rate changes. A standard fixed installment loan is an alternative -- and, in many cases, less expensive -- option. Fixed installment loans are not subject to fluctuating interest rates, so you'll save over the life of the loan.
3. Provide the dealer with a copy of your credit report or sign a consent form to allow the dealer to request, view and print your credit report.
4. Review the terms and conditions of the loan. Inquire about interest rates, late fees (in some cases, a late fee can trigger an interest rate increase), the length -- or term -- of the loan (i.e., when the final payment is due) and early payment restrictions. Rule 78 allows a lender to penalize a borrower for repaying a loan early.
5. Fill out a loan application and pay any applicable down payment fees and other processing fees.

Install Power Commander to a Harley Davidson Road King
Harley-Davidson's Road King series has set a high level of standards. Built for the long haul, the Road King V-twin motor has a comfortable seat, windshield and hard saddlebags. To enhance the King's performance, a Power Commander electronic fuel-injection controller can be installed easily to fine-tune the bike's power delivery. For modified Road Kings, whose free-flowing air intakes and exhaust systems require a greater amount of fuel to perform properly, this is especially important. Fortunately, installing the Power Commander can be one of the simplest upgrades to perform.
Instructions
1. Remove the right-side frame cover to access the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Remove the ECM by unscrewing the two mounting bolts that secure it to the frame.
2. Unplug the ECM from the motorcycle's wiring harness. Plug the black connector from the Power Commander module into the wiring harness.
3. Prepare the wiring harness connector for mounting by cleaning the top side of the connector with the included alcohol swab to remove any oil or grease. Attach a strip of Velcro to the clean surface of both halves of the connector.
4. Remove the backing from the Velcro strips and mount the connector to the underside of the battery tray. Hold the connector against the tray and apply pressure for 15 to 20 seconds to set the Velcro strip's adhesive backing.
5. Connect the gray connector from the Power Commander module to the ECM. Tighten the ECM's mounting screws to secure it to the frame.
6. Secure the Power Commander module by zip-tying it to the ECM or frame. Replace the right side frame cover to conceal the ECM and Power Commander module.

Dish Network dual tuner receivers allows two TVs to connect to one receiver.
Dish Network is a U.S. satellite television provider. With Dish's dual tuner technology, you can watch two different television shows in two different rooms using only one receiver. TV2 refers to the TV that is not directly connected to the satellite receiver. However, because TV2 is still controlled by the satellite receiver, some troubleshooting steps to fix a blue screen error involve making changes to the satellite receiver. Blue screens, according to Dish Network support, indicate that there is no satellite signal being sent to the TV.
Instructions
1. Make sure that the satellite receiver is plugged into a live power source and turned on. Sometimes a blue screen on TV2 can be due to the receiver not being turned on, thus not sending a signal to the TV. Hold the "Power" button down on the front of the receiver to turn it on.
2. Check the coaxial cable connection from the wall outlet to your satellite receiver, which is connected to TV1, to make sure it is securely connected. This is the most important connection to check because without incoming information, the receiver cannot send a signal to TV1 or TV2.
3. Check the coaxial cable connection from your wall outlet to TV2. Even though TV2 is not directly connected to a satellite receiver, you must still connect TV2 to a wall outlet using a coaxial cable.
4. Try changing the channel on TV2 to channel 60 or 73. These are two typical channels that the satellite receiver send a signal to. If this fixes the problem, press the "SAT" button on your remote and use TV2 as you normally would.
5. Go to TV1 and open the "Modulator" screen. Click "Menu" on the remote followed by the numbers "6," "1," and "5." Locate "TV2 Out Mode Setting" on the screen and change it from "Air to Cable" or "Cable to Air," depending on the current setting. Look for the new channel number displayed under the line "TV2 Out." Go back to TV2 and change the channel to the channel displayed under "TV2 Out." If this fixes the problem, press the "SAT" button on your remote and use TV2 as you normally would.
6. Reset the satellite receiver. Turn off the receiver and unplug it from the wall outlet for 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back into the wall and turn on the receiver. If the problem still persists, contact Dish Network support. See "Resources" for a link to Dish Network support.
Use construction paper to create colorful whirly birds.
A whirly bird takes little time and effort to make and provides hours of fun as you release it and watch it twirl through the air. It also costs almost nothing because you don't need anything other than paper to make one. It won't last through as many crashes as plastic toys, but you can make as many as you want. A whirly bird also demonstrates scientific concepts such as gravity and air movement, making it a good learning tool.
Instructions
1. Place the paper so that one short side is closest to you. Align a ruler against the opposite short edge. Measure and mark the middle point, which is located 1 inch from either side. Name this Point A.
2. Align your ruler against one long side of the paper and find the middle point, which is located 4 1/4 inches from either side. Do the same with the other long side and draw a line between the two points. Name this Line A.
3. Find the middle point of Line A and name it Point B. Draw a line from Point A down to Point B; cut along this line.
4. Align your ruler against Line A. Draw a line 5/8 inch in length from one side and do the same with the other side. Name the end points Point C and Point D. Cut from one edge to Point C and from the other edge to Point D so that the only the middle portion of Line A connects the top and bottom halves of the paper.
5. Fold the two left and right portions of the top half of the paper along Line A so that they face opposite sides. These flaps will serve as the blades of the whirly bird.
6. Draw a straight, vertical line from Points C and D downward until you reach the bottom short side of the paper. Fold the two paper flaps toward each other along these two lines. Put a paper clip at the bottom end of the paper to hold these flaps in place.
7. Use coloring pencils and crayons to decorate the whirly bird.
8. Hold the whirly bird with the blades on top and the end with the paper clip at the bottom. Toss the whirly bird into the air or drop from an elevated height.

Spoked wheels are still as cool as they are practical.
Wheel lacing isn't quite a lost art the way that, say, polar bear boxing might be -- but it's pretty close. Spoke wheels reigned supreme once at the dawn of the automobile motorcycle and automobile, when human labor was cheaper than machine tools and aluminum hadn't gotten as strong and reliable as it is today. More than 100 years after the first motorcycles, the traditional spoke wheel remains a contender for its strength, light weight and low material costs. But spoke wheels don't lace themselves -- and that's where good old human labor comes back into play.
Instructions
1. Identify the parts of your wheel. You have a center hub with two sets of holes drilled into the flange on either side and an outer rim with another 80 holes. The 80-spoke rim uses spokes of two different lengths; long inner spokes, and shorter outer spokes. The spokes on a 16-inch Harley Davidson 80-spoke, for instance, measure 5.19-inch for the outer and 5.59 inches for the inner spokes. Before anything, separate the spokes by length, and keep the nuts nearby.
2. Place your wheel hub on a table with the brake side facing up and push the outer (shorter) spokes down through each of the outer hub holes on the top flange. The spokes don't fasten to the hub; a stop on the end of the angled tip keeps them from going all the way through. As you push the spokes through, turn them so that they all angle clockwise. When you're done, the assembly should look like it's "spinning" counter-clockwise.
3. Center the rim over the hub assembly, and lower it to the table. Pick up the spoke that falls just to the left (counter-clockwise direction) of the valve stem hole, and push it through the hole just to the left of the valve stem. Hand thread the spoke nipple onto the end of the spoke from the outside of the rim. Continue around the wheel in this manner, installing all of the outer spokes and loosely installing the spoke nipples. Do not turn the rim or hub before you install all of the spokes. The outer spokes should land in every fourth hole in the rim.
4. Install the first inner (long) spoke, angling it counter-clockwise and crossing it under four outer spokes (running the opposite direction). Install all of the inner spokes in this manner, again, inserting them into every fourth hole above the rim center-line. Loosely install the spoke nipples. Carefully flip the rim over and repeat steps two and three on the other side.

Golf carts are a classic part of every golf game and are used globally. They were the first mass-produced electric vehicle ever made. For many kids, they're also the first experience "driving" while playing golf. In general, they provide a speedy and safe means of transportation when playing, or if used by hotels and communities instead of using a car.
Function
A golf cart is primarily a tool used to transport you around 18 holes of golf efficiently and safely. The classic cart is built low to the ground to create a low center of gravity when turning, to avoid golfers spilling out. Most golf carts are designed to carry two golfers and their bags, though some carts have been modified to seat more passengers. In this case, the cart is likely used as an alternate mode of transportation around a golfing community--as a sales vehicle, perhaps, or as a vehicle to take guests to their room at a resort.
Golf carts keep the pace of play relatively speedy, as golf carts travel more quickly than golfers walk to their balls. This can be a real advantage at a public course, where there are likely to be more players trying to get on the links on a weekend. The top speed for most golf carts is 15 m.p.h.
Considerations
Golf carts come with one of two engine options: gas or electric. Electric carts require regular recharging, especially overnight, to avoid "short charging" their batteries, limiting long-term life. Gas carts are fueled using normal gasoline.
Golf carts are most often made of a combination of steel plates, rods and tubing. Bodies are composed of aluminum (sheet form), fiberglass or a steel shell. Components may also include plastic or metal parts, but these are often bought from other vendors and added after the initial manufacture. Carts include at least two seats, typically as a bench. The manufacture includes a basic suspension, rubber tires, seat cushions covered in a weather-proof fabric such as vinyl, a steering assembly and a motor with the accompanying drive train and brakes.
The cart's design includes multiple golf-focused options for the player; the middle of the steering wheel often includes a clipboard used for score cards and carts come with ball holders, drink holders, enclosures to protect against inclement weather and storage space for equipment.
Do not exceed the weight restrictions on a golf cart, as it is designed to carry up to a specific weight, depending on the model. Most golf carts will have a placard on the cart itself that states the maximum weight capacity; make sure you have included all of the equipment you have loaded on to the cart in the total.
Misconceptions
Many people believe that golf carts are a safe and legal alternate from of transport, but this is not always the case. Most communities designed around golf courses allow golf carts on the road and tolerate the reduced speed that might impact other traffic. However, golf carts are not street legal in most states, unless they have been modified to include headlights, brake lights and are licensed by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Check your state's DMV prior to entering a public roadway on your golf cart.
Time Frame
When using a cart, you typically pay a rental fee and keep a golf cart for the duration of your round of golf, off-loading your equipment at the end of play. The cart is then returned to the owner of the course. Some golf carts, though, are a golfer's personal property, especially if that golfer is an avid player. In this case, the cart may be kept after play and return home with the golfer, unless the cart is stored on site at the course.
History
Golf carts were first invented in the 1950s. Merle Williams, using his knowledge of electric cars spurred by gas rationing during WWII, developed the first model in Southern California. Later models, developed by companies such as Harley-Davidson, were powered by gas. In 1953, only the players at very exclusive clubs used golf carts, but by 1959 they had increased in popularity. Caddies are available at private clubs and some players prefer to carry their own bags or use a hand-drawn cart, but the golf cart is the preferred choice for most golfers.

The Scientific Atlanta 8300HD is a set-top receiver box and digital video recorder (DVR) used by cable television providers including Time Warner and Charter Cable. Features with the 8300HD include the ability to process and display high-definition (HD) channels and to record up to 20 hours of HD programming or up to 50 hours in standard definition (SD). Other options include pausing and rewinding live TV, picture-in-picture (PIP) and recording two channels at once while viewing another previously recorded show. It is also designed to make it easy for the user to access and manage its various functions.
Instructions
1. Connect the 8300HD to your television using the type of cables supported by your TV. To display HD video, use either HDMI (thin, rectangular-shaped connector) or component video cables (five color-coded connectors: red, blue and green for video, red and white for audio). Otherwise, a coaxial cable or composite RCA cables will also work, though again with those the HD channels will not have HD resolution. Connect the cable(s) from the output on the rear of the receiver to the matching input on the TV.
2. Turn the TV on and set it to the input the receiver is connected to (i.e. HDMI1 or TV). With the 8300HD powered off but plugged in, press "Guide" and "Info" on the front of the unit simultaneously to initiate the setup wizard when using it for the first time. The HDTV Setup Wizard will appear on screen; press the yellow '"A" button on the remote supplied with the 8300HD to begin setup. Use the "A" and the blue "B" button to select the various setup options, including easy or advanced setup and wide or standard picture size, and press "Power" to begin watching TV.
3. Use the numeric keypad on the remote control to select a channel to view, or press "Guide" to bring up the on-screen guide. Press the up or down arrow key to scroll through the channels of the guide one by one, or press "Page+" or "Page-" to scroll through in groups of five. Press "SEL" to view the channel highlighted on the guide.
4. Press "Settings" on the remote control to access the Settings menu, and use the arrow keys to scroll through the categories and individual settings. Options will include picture size/aspect ratio, closed captioning, audio/SAP, on-screen language, parental controls and favorite channels. Press "SEL" to select an option, use the arrow keys to choose a setting and press "SEL" again to save the setting. Press "Exit" to exit the on-screen menu.
5. Press "Record" to begin recording the program you are currently viewing, or navigate the on-screen channel guide to highlight a future program on any available channel and press "SEL" to have the DVR record that program. Scroll through the recording options that pop up to choose the recording settings, which include single or series recording, all episodes or new only and starting/ending early or late. The program will then be shown as set to record in the guide; press "SEL" again to change or cancel a recording.
6. Press "List" to open the list of your recorded programs. Use the up or down arrow key to highlight a program, and press "SEL" to open the playback options, which will include "Play from beginning" or "Restart" if you have previously watched all or part of the program. Use the appropriate keys on the remote to pause, stop, rewind or fast-forward playback, pressing the "Rewind" or "Fast-Forward" keys multiple times to scan at higher speeds. After stopping playback, use the arrow keys to choose an option such as "Stop and Save," "Stop and Delete" or "Restart."
Harley-Davidson motorcycle engines are all based on the V-twin design. As of 2010, most factory Harley engines have one spark plug per cylinder and two cylinders per engine in a V-twin configuration.
Instructions
1. Find and disconnect the battery, following instructions in the Harley-Davidson service manual. Disconnect the positive side first, then the negative side.
2. Locate the spark plugs on both cylinders. Remove the spark plug wires from the spark plug ends by pulling gently and evenly on the hard cable end until the wires are removed. Move the wires aside.
3. Spark plug tool
Use the spark plug tool or a ratchet with a spark plug socket and remove the plugs in a counter-clockwise direction. Set the spark plug aside carefully when removed.
4. Inspect each electrode area of the spark plugs, or the area that was inside the engine, for damage. Replace them if necessary.
5. Check the gap between the electrodes by sliding the appropriate size wire from the spark plug gap gauge, between the two electrodes on the plug. The wire should feel like it has a slight bit of resistance when pulling it through the gap. If it is too loose, use the spark plug tool to bend the outer electrode slightly inward. If the gap is to narrow, bend it slightly outward.
6. Torque wrench
Apply a small amount of the engine oil to the threads on the spark plugs and tighten them back into the engine heads, in a clockwise direction, finger tight. Then use a torque wrench to tighten the plugs to 11 to 18 foot-pounds.
7. Reattach the spark plug wires and the battery cables--attaching the ground, or black, cable and then the power, or red, cable.

With so many companies cutting their staffs and laying people off, it is no surprise that so many workers are being offered voluntary early retirement packages. In some cases these packages will be quite lucrative, while in other cases they are paltry. No matter what the offer is like, it is important to carefully review the details before deciding whether to accept the package.
Lump sum vs. annuity payments
Workers who are offered a voluntary early retirement package may be given a number of options for their buyouts. If more than one option is on the table it is important to evaluate each one to determine which one is best for you. Everyone's circumstances will be different, so it is important to carefully evaluate each option.
You may want to get advice from a fee-only financial adviser before making a final decision. A fee-only financial adviser is paid to evaluate these kinds of options and help individuals make an intelligent and informed decision. When seeking out financial advice be sure to look for a fee-only financial planner -- a fee-only planner derives his or her income from clients, not from commissions derived from investment recommendations.
Consider for instance a longtime employee who is offered a $100,000 lump sum early retirement package or a $5,000 per year guaranteed annuity payment. That $5,000 annual payment represents a 5% return on that $100,000 nest egg -- more than CDs are paying at the moment but perhaps not enough to keep up with inflation in the long run. When evaluating the options it is important to consider all your circumstances, including any additional savings you may have.
What will you do after you leave your job?
One of the most important considerations is what you'll do after leaving your current job. In many cases those workers would have stayed on the job for another 10 or 20 years, so filling the remaining years may be quite a challenge. Before you agree to a buyout it is important to think long and hard about what you want to do next. Perhaps you want to try a new career. Maybe you want to volunteer for your favorite charity. Having a plan in place will make your post-retirement years more fulfilling and more fun.
Do you have another source of income?
When evaluating an early retirement package it is important to consider other sources of income. Unless you are a CEO or your company is extremely generous, that early retirement package is unlikely to be enough to live on, so it is important to look at other sources of income. This includes any other savings you have in place, pensions from an earlier career and the like.
It is also important to take a realistic look at the long-term prospects for your employer. If your company faces a bleak future, the saying "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" may apply. In that case it may be best to take the buyout package and look for another job, rather than wait around and end up with a less lucrative package.

Storage is always important in computers, and one way to increase it is by adding a second hard drive. This can easily be done in most desktop computers.
There are two main types of hard drive: SATA (Serial ATA) and PATA (Parallel ATA). SATA drives have a small, wafer-like connector at the back and PATA ones have a wide connector with lots of pins (two rows of 20). Determine which kind of drive you have before you begin.
Instructions
SATA Drives
1. Connect SATA cables and power cords (also smaller and wafer-like) to the drives, mount them in your case and locate the SATA connectors on the motherboard. Older motherboards might not have SATA connectors but anything made in the last few years should have at least two.
2. Connect the hard drives. Consult your motherboard's manual to figure out which SATA connector is the primary one and which is the secondary one. Make a note of which drive is connecting where (it is best to make the hard drive you plan to boot off of--i.e. which one has your operating system on it--the primary drive).
3. Go into BIOS. When you turn on your computer there should be a prompt near the bottom of the screen telling you to press a button to go into setup or BIOS. In BIOS go into the boot order section. Select which SATA drive you are booting from. Check to make sure both drives are recognized by the computer.
PATA Drives
4. If you have PATA drives you need to figure out which drive you are going to use to boot up. Whichever one has your operating system on it should be your boot drive.
5. Look at the back of the drives. There should be a small collection of pins (two rows of three or four) with a little plastic jumper on them. There should also be a diagram on top of the drive describing jumper positions like "master" and "slave."
6. Place the jumper in the "master" position on your boot-up drive. On the other drive place the jumper in the "slave" position.
7. Locate the PATA connectors on the motherboard (they are also referred to as IDE connectors). There should be at least two. Consult your motherboard's manual to find out which is the primary and which is the secondary. Connect the power connectors; they have colored wires and white, plastic heads.
8. Connect the "master" drive to the primary connector and the "slave" to the secondary. Alternatively, you can use an IDE cable with three connectors on it for both hard drives together, but make sure the master drive is first in line and you use the primary connector on the motherboard.
9. Go to BIOS as instructed in Step 3 of Section 1. Instead of selecting the SATA drive, select the master PATA drive, and check to make sure both drives are recognized by the computer.

The Rinnai Infinity is a compact, continuous flow gas water heater. It operates by only heating water when needed. When the tap is turned on, water passes through the unit, heating it instantly; it delivers the heated water to the tap. As an added safety feature, the Rinnai Infinity comes with up to four remote controls that not only allow you to control the temperature but also to determine various errors. When there is a problem with the unit, the remote control displays an error code. This tool makes troubleshooting the unit easier and more efficient. In most cases, a service technician will be required to inspect and repair the unit, but basic troubleshooting can resolve some error codes. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Error Code 3 occurs when the power is interrupted during a bath fill. The water will not flow after the power is restored. Make sure all taps are shut off, then press the ON/OFF switch on the remote control twice.
2. Error Code 10 occurs when the combustion fan current is too high. The unit starts then stops. Check the air intake outlet and combustion fan for a blockage.
3. Error Code 11 occurs when there is no flame. The unit will not operate without ignition. Check the gas supply, sparker unit, and gas valves. Contact your gas provider if there is no gas getting to the unit. Contact a service technician if the sparker unit or valves are at fault.
4. Check the power cord. When the appliance does not operate at all and there is no digital code displayed on the remote, make sure the cord is plugged in properly and the power supply is turned on. Check the fuse box to make sure the fuse supplying power to the unit has not been tripped.
5. Reprogram the remote, if needed. When the unit is not working and the remote control does not display an error code, reprogramming needs to be done. Follow the instructions for the particular model being used or contact a service technician.

A hot muffler pipe from a motorcycle or other vehicle can burn skin. Burns are rated first degree, second degree or third degree depending on the level of tissue damage. Home treatment is often sufficient for many first-degree or second-degree muffler burns; however, more severe burns may require medical treatment. Each year, over 1 million Americans get medical attention for burns and over 50,000 are hospitalized for those injuries, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Instructions
1. Look at the burned area to determine the severity. Redness, mild swelling and pain are signs of a first-degree burn. A second-degree burn has more swelling and pain along with blisters.
2. Measure the area of the burn. A minor burn is less than 3 inches in diameter and does not go deeper than the first layers of skin. If the muffler burn is more severe than this, do not treat it yourself but seek medical attention. Burns on the face, hands, groin, buttocks or feet also require medical care, as do burns on the elbows or knees, according to Case Western Reserve University.
3. Hold the burned area under cold running water, or immerse it in cold water to cool down the skin. Applying wet compresses of clean, soft material is another way to cool the burned area. Cool for approximately 15 minutes.
4. Apply aloe gel or lotion, an antibiotic ointment or a gentle moisturizer to the burned area, being careful not to disturb the skin. This will soothe the skin and prevent it from drying out.
5. Use sterile gauze or a bandage to protect the burn.
Cover the burn with a sterile adhesive bandage or gauze pad. Apply medical tape to secure the gauze. The dressing will protect the area from further damage or infection.
6. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever, such as aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to reduce the pain and swelling. Read the instructions carefully for dosage information.
7. Change the gauze or bandage regularly to check for infection. Signs of infection include increased pain or swelling, fever, ongoing drainage, swollen lymph nodes or an area that does not heal. If you see these symptoms, seek medical help.
The Core 2 Duo is a multiple core central processing unit (CPU) manufactured by Intel. Since 2006, Intel has marketed the Core 2 Duo computer processor to consumers. When it was introduced, Intel hailed it as its fastest CPU.
Identification
The Core 2 Duo is a type of processor or CPU manufactured by Intel. The Core 2 Duo is a specific type of dual core processor that contains two processors on a single chip. In contrast, older processors contain only a single processor per chip.
Function
The processor is responsible for reading and executing operations on a computer. Without a CPU,
Benefits
The Core 2 Duo is more powerful than a single core CPU (such as Intel's Core processor). This allows the user to run more applications and more demanding applications, such as computer games or intensive media editors. Furthermore, this processor is able to perform tasks more quickly and seamlessly than inferior processors so that users can more efficiently run multiple programs simultaneously.
Considerations
Intel's Core 2 Duo family of processors offers several options to the home or business computer owner. While a computer that relies on a Core 2 Duo CPU is more efficient than a computer that relies on a single core processor, some Core 2 Duo models offer greater speed and memory storage capabilities than other Core 2 Duos.
Installing wheels on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle is necessary when replacing tires, lubricating an axle or packing the bearings on a wheel. Correctly installing the wheel may mean the difference between a good ride and disaster. Fortunately, most of the work can be done right in your own garage. The time it takes to perform will depend on your skill level and the amount of experience you possess.
Instructions
Front Wheel
1. Place the wheel in between the front forks. The front tire's valve stem is on the right side.
2. Coat the front axle with anti-seize lubricant. Insert the axle into the wheel from the right side of the bike.
3. Tighten the slider cap nuts on the right fork to prevent the axle from rotating during axle nut installation.
4. Place the washer, lock washer and axle nut onto the axle. Torque the axle nut down between 45 to 50 foot-pounds.
5. Loosen the slider cap nuts and retighten them to a torque value between nine and 13 foot-pounds.
Rear Wheel
6. Place the rear wheel inside of the rear swing arm as far forward as possible. Slip the drive belt onto the sprocket.
7. Pull the wheel back toward its correct position. Maneuver the wheel to place the brake disk inside the disk brake pads in the brake caliper.
8. Coat the rear axle with anti-seize lubricant. Slide the axle in from the right side of the motorcycle. The axle will go through the belt adjuster collar, the rear fork, the rear caliper bracket then through the wheel.
9. Insert the axle all the way through to the right side into the spacer, the belt adjuster collar and the left side of the rear fork.
10. Install the axle nut and washer onto the rear axle. Torque the nut down to 60 foot-pounds.
Many Harley-Davidson motorcycles use a Kevlar final drive belt instead of a final drive chain. Harley motorcycles have two belt tension adjustor bolts, one on each side of the frame, positioned just in front of the axle nuts. When the belt stretches on your Harley-Davidson, you must adjust the tension using those two screws.
Instructions
1. Place the rear of the motorcycle off the ground with a jack stand or a motorcycle lift with a rear tire cut-away.
2. Loosen both axle nuts located on each side of the motorcycle where the rear wheel attaches to the frame. Do not remove the axle nuts, just loosen them.
3. Locate the belt tension adjustment bolts. On the right side of the Harley, the bolt is located to the right of the axle nut. On the left side of the Harley, the bolt is located to the left of the axle nut.
4. Turn each bolt one equal rotation clockwise to push the rear tire backwards using a wrench. This will tighten the belt. Check the belt tension. Continue this step until the belt reaches the desired tension. Make sure you turn the adjustment bolt on each side equal turns to ensure the wheel stays aligned.
5. Tighten each axle nut using a wrench to secure the rear wheel in place.

Harassing employees who have engaged in egregious misconduct, but whose behavior isn't quite at the level of immediate dismissal, can receive discipline in the form of an unpaid suspension from work. Suspension addresses incidents of harassment in a particularly useful way because not only does the harasser receive a financial penalty and time to contemplate the seriousness of the misconduct, but having the harasser physically out of the workplace can calm a tense environment.
Level of Discipline
Consider whether a suspension is the appropriate level of discipline for the offense. Certain types of misconduct are sufficiently egregious that the employer can justify immediate discharge from employment, even if the employee has a previously exemplary job record. Treat employees consistently and verify that other similarly situated employees have also been suspended for similar misconduct in other divisions and departments. Use past practice and the specifics of the case to determine the length of the suspension the employee must serve.
How the Suspension is Served
Employees serving a traditional suspension do not report to work -- and do not get paid -- for a determined period of time. This practice is often difficult for the employer because of staffing shortages, especially if the employee is involved with critical business operations or time-sensitive projects. Some companies require employees to take a pay reduction equivalent to the number of days suspension to solve the problem. Having the employee serve the suspension on existing holidays is another alternative.
Training
Just suspending the harasser might not be enough to curb the behavior. If the employee truly does not understand why his behavior was wrong, simply removing him from the workforce will not provide any benefit or prevent it from happening again. To address this concern, and also mitigate employer liability, require the employee to attend harassment prevention training in addition to the suspension. Ideally, the training should occur before the employee returns to the workplace.
Return to Work
Decide whether the employee will return to the existing workplace once the suspension is over or if the harasser will be moved to an alternate location, away from the victim. If you decide to move the harasser, use the suspension time to move physical belongings, complete changes such as telephone directory entries and computer set-up, and transfer files or projects the harasser was working on to the new division. Doing this while the employee is out on suspension removes any legitimate reasons the harasser may otherwise have had for returning to the former location.
Harley-Davidson recommends changing the oil every 5,000 miles.
Regularly changing the engine oil on your Harley-Davidson Softail motorcycle is one of the most important maintenance procedures you can perform and it can add years to the life of your ride. Harley specifies an oil change every 5,000 miles. With a little practice, you should be able to change the oil and filter on your bike in 30 minutes or less.
Instructions
1. Run the engine on your bike to achieve normal operating temperature. Turn off the ignition.
2. Place an oil drain pan underneath the motorcycle. Pry the drain hose from its bracket using a large flat head screwdriver. Remove the engine oil dipstick and set it aside.
3. Remove the drain plug from the oil drain hose on the lower right side of the motorcycle with an appropriately sized flat head screwdriver. Place the end of the drain hose over the oil drain pan and allow all of the oil to drain.
4. Reinstall the drain plug into the drain hose and clip the hose back into place.
5. Move the oil drain pan underneath the oil filter area. Remove the old oil filter with a filter wrench. Allow any oil to drain into the pan. Clean the filter mounting boss of any old oil or debris with a shop towel.
6. Rub a small amount of new, clean oil on the gasket of the new oil filter. Install the filter on the filter boss, turning it by hand. When the gasket contacts the mount, turn the filter an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn.
7. Fill the tank with 3 quarts of appropriate engine oil Start the engine and observe the filter and drain hose for any leaks. Turn off the engine.
8. Check the oil level on the dipstick with the bike upright and level with the engine hot. Add oil up to the fill line, if necessary.

Replacing your spark plugs is one way to get more horsepower from your Silverado 1500.
If you want more performance out of your Chevy Silverado 1500, there are a few modifications you can make to the engine that will increase your horsepower. By adding some aftermarket parts, you will increase the efficiency of your truck's engine, leading not only to more horsepower, but better gas mileage too.
Aftermarket Air Filter
Replace your stock air filter with an aftermarket air filter. This will allow the air to flow more freely through your engine, giving it more efficient firing power. K&N cold air intake air filters are designed to increase horsepower acceleration while providing better air filtration (see Resources). They also make it possible to get more exhaust out. These aftermarket filters are more efficient at keeping dirt out of your engine, allowing the air uptake to be purer and resulting in more horsepower. Just how much horsepower you will be able to get out of your engine depends on which aftermarket air filter you use. Estimates range from 5 to 10 additional horsepower gained.
Aftermarket Exhaust
While an aftermarket air filter helps to get better air into the engine, an aftermarket exhaust will help it to be more efficient getting out. Some features to look for in an exhaust that can improve horsepower are the diameter of the exhaust pipe and a high-flow muffler. Another tip is to add a low thermostat to keep your engine running cooler, leading to more efficiency.
Performance Spark Plugs, Wires and Filter
Performance spark plugs will enhance the gapping power and make your engine more efficient. The gap is the area the spark must cover to charge the engine. Old or badly gapping spark plugs will cause you to lose horsepower. Change out your spark plugs, wires and filter and replace with a performance model specific to a Chevy Silverado 1500.
Aftermarket Computer Chip
Electronic engines are run by a series of computer chips that control the functions of the engine. You can boost your engine's horsepower by upgrading the engine's computer using a PROM, or Programmable Read Only Memory. Depending on the operation condition, these aftermarket chips will alter the air/fuel ratio, idle speed and spark timing of your engine. There are many aftermarket companies that offer aftermarket chips for stock engines. If you have already altered your Chevy Silverado 1500, you will need to go with a chip that has been programmed for your modifications. You can special-order chips to be compatible with the alterations you have made through various companies, such as Z Industries (see Resources).

Just about every motorcycle comes from the factory with decals on the gas tank: The tank badge decals either identify the brand or the model of bike. For anyone who is interested in personalizing his bike, these stickers have got to go. Unfortunately, the manufacturer doesn't want them to come off, so you have to use a few tricks to get the job done.
Instructions
1. Soak the decal with a mild solvent. Keep the solvent to the sticker and don't go too much over onto the paint.
2. Melt the glue holding the decal on with the heat gun. Watch the tank carefully for signs that the decal is separating from the tank.
3. Hold a length of dental floss in each hand stretched over the area where the decal is applied. Gently work the floss back and forth while you draw it across the decal. It should start peeling off. If the glue starts to harden again, give it another spray with solvent or add more heat.
4. Clean up the remaining glue residue using a clean shop towel and more solvent. Wipe gently to avoid damaging the finish.

A vehicle lien represents money owed to the lien holder before obtaining free and clear title ownership. Lien holders include financial institutions, vehicle dealerships or private lending firms. When buying a motorcycle with a lien, multiple options are available to transfer ownership.
Paying Off a Lien
Funds received from the motorcycle sale price can pay off the existing lien when a lien holder is owed less or the sale price equivalent. Paying off the lien frees the title from prior financial obligations. Buyers should call the lien holder for the official lien amount and then send a check to that lender for the specified amount, thus avoiding the possibility of a scam.
Taking Over Payments
A buyer can also contact the motorcycle lien holder and ask to take over payments for the person selling the motorcycle. Inquire about interest charges, total amount owed and other fees that may be associated with paying off the lien.
Contacting the Lien Holder
The first thing a person buying a motorcycle attached to a lien should do is ask the seller for the lien holder information. After receiving contact information, call the lien holder and verify the amount of money owed.
The year 1984 was big for Harley-Davidson. The company introduced the Evolution engine, the culmination of seven years of development. The 1,340 cc engine debuted on five models that year, including the brand new Softail. The Softail was designed to look like the classic motorcycles with rigidly mounted rear wheels. The original Softail did resemble the Harley-Davidson Hydra-Glide, introduced in 1948 and produced through 1957.
Softail Heritage
Design work on the Softail frame began in 1974 in a garage in St. Louis. Bill Davis, an avid motorcycle customizer, not affiliated with Harley-Davidson, preferred the looks of the hardtail models, "But my interest was in long trips, so I couldn't live with the horrid, uncomfortable ride of the rigid." Davis customized his 1972 Harley-Davidson Super Glide, adding his own triangular swingarm and a single snowmobile shock absorber, hidden under the seat. He continued to refine his prototype and finally presented it to Harley-Davidson in August 1976. It would be several more years before Davis and the Motor Company finally came to an agreement in 1982. Harley-Davidson introduced Davis' design as the 1984 Softail.
Introduction of the Softail Custom
Harley-Davidson unveiled two new Softail models in 1986: the FLHTC Heritage Softail and the FXSTC Softail Custom. The "FL" of the Heritage denoted that it had larger front forks and the "FX" of the Custom meant it used the smaller forks inspired by Sportster models. The FXSTC Custom was an upscale version of the standard FXST Softail. The Custom had more chrome, including chrome engine covers and accents on the frame.
Early Softail Custom Enhancements
The Harley-Davidson Softail Custom maintained the Evolution 82 cubic inch or 1340 cc engine through model year 1999. For model year 2000, all Softail models received the Twin Cam 88B 1,450 cc counter-balanced engine. The following year Harley-Davidson added electronic fuel injection to the Custom and the rest of the Softail lines.
More Softail Custom Enhancements
Harley-Davidson upped the engine size for the Softail Custom again for the 2007 model year. In addition to the Twin Cam 96 1,584 cc engine, the Custom and the rest of the Softail line received a new six-speed Cruise Drive transmission, up from the five-speed version that had been in use since 1986. The electronic fuel injection system was also updated for 2007. The Custom underwent some styling upgrades for 2007, including a new one-piece seat with integrated passenger backrest.
The Softail Custom Ride
Bill Davis originally developed the Softail because he liked the look of classic hardtail bikes, but wanted the added comfort of rear suspension on longer rides. But the hidden suspension system of the Softail Custom does have limits. To get the look of the classic rigid-mount motorcycles, the Custom was built to be low to ground, which necessitated limited wheel travel and a harsher ride. And the engine is hard-mounted to the frame, adding to the vibration. The Softail Custom is a distinctive looking motorcycle, but it may not be the best choice for long distance riding.

Vizio TVs, which are available at most electronics retailers and are capable of displaying high-definition images, come with a variety of ports that allow you to connect them to various devices, including DVD players, video game consoles, and even personal computers. As long as your computer has a suitable port, like DVI or preferably HDMI, you can connect it to your Vizio TV for use as an external monitor.
Instructions
1. Plug one end of the HDMI or DVI cable into the computer's corresponding port. Though both are capable of displaying high-definition images, only HDMI can transfer audio as well.
2. Plug the other end into your TV's corresponding port. These will be found in the back. There will typically only be one DVI port, which is shaped like an upside-down trapezoid, but there will usually be multiple HDMI ports. Consult your owner's manual for the exact locations of the ports on your particular model.
3. Set the Vizio to the proper video channel, which should correspond with the video input you used (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, DVI, etc.).
4. Set your computer to display its images through the TV. This can be done by entering the "Graphics Options" by right-clicking on the desktop screen and highlighting and clicking "Output to" followed by "TV."
Amazon's Instant Video on-demand service offers instant access to thousands of movies and TV shows which can be purchased or rented, then watched on a variety of electronic devices, including personal computers and televisions. While the Instant Video service allows you to rent and purchase videos on a per-title basis, the Amazon Prime service gives you unlimited access to movies and TV shows for an annual fee as well as other features.
Getting Started
Using Amazon's Instant Video service requires you to first create an account with the Amazon.com website, which will allow you to pay for the movies you purchase or rent. Once your account is created, you can browse the site's video offerings, where you are given the option of renting each title for a 48-hour period or purchasing the selected video. Clicking on the "watch now" link associated with each title gives you instant access to that movie, which begins playing directly on your computer once you have completed the rental transaction. The service's streaming video is compatible with any Windows or Mac computer and is viewed through the device's Web browser. The Adobe Flash Player application is required to watch the videos, and if you do not have the correct version of Flash, you will be prompted to download and install the required version. Purchased titles are stored on the Amazon website in the Your Video Library potion of your account, where you can choose either to watch online or to download for offline viewing.
Watching Offline
Some Amazon Instant Video content can only be watched via streaming video, while other titles come with the option of downloading a copy of the title. If downloaded, you must first install the company's Unbox Video Player application to be able to watch the downloaded video. Downloaded content can be transferred to a variety of computing devices, including portable video players, which must also have the Unbox Video Player application installed for you to watch. As of July 2011, the Unbox Video Player application is free of charge.
Televisions
As of the date of publication, Amazon has teamed with several electronics companies, including Sony and Roku, to make the Amazon Instant Video on-demand service directly compatible with televisions. You must connect your Amazon Instant Video-compatible television to a broadband Internet connection and register your television with Amazon before you can access the on-demand video service.
