Wallpaper can be expensive, and there is a limit to available designs. If you are looking for something original or are having problems finding just the paper you have in mind, printing your own wallpaper with a standard printer and paper might be just the thing. Any image can quickly become your own custom wallpaper with just a few tweaks in your favorite editing program. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Find a design online, or create one in a photo editing program. Using the program, enlarge your design so that it covers the entire sheet of paper. Look for designs that are simple, and avoid repeating patterns that will need to be lined up precisely.
2. Print the design onto thin printer paper. Regular copy paper works best. Allow each page to dry for about five minutes so the ink doesn't smear.
3. Paint the wall with a wallpaper primer, and allow to dry completely.
4. Coat the back of each printed page with decoupage glue using a foam brush. Smooth the pages onto the chosen wall with your fingers, overlapping each page about 1.2 inches.
5. Brush a coat of decoupage glue over the entire wall after all the printed pages are attached. Allow to dry.

Valve cover gaskets will age over time and become brittle and once that happens you will lose the correct pressure you should have between the cover and the engine block ultimately allowing oil to leak through. Changing the gasket is not a very tough job although some car designs will make it a bit more complicated and you may have to remove additional parts to get to the gaskets. This eHow describes change the gasket under the assumption that you already have access to all the hold down bolts and clearance to remove the cover.
Instructions
1. Remove all of the hold down bolts holding the cover in place. Be sure to remove them straight and not strip the heads, making sure you are using the right size wrench or socket. If you have a problem with any, spray some Rust Buster or penetrating oil on the bolt, wait a little bit and try again.
2. Usually the cover will just lift right up and off, but sometimes, even though all the bolts are off, the cover will be stuck on. This is the gasket still hanging on from the original seal.
3. try to slip the edge of your putty knife under a corner and pry up some if the cover does not lift right off at first. You may have to tap the end of the knife with a hammer to gain a wedge to work with. If you get a corner loose you can slip your flat head screwdriver in the opening and then just twist the screwdriver to pry it free. Other times you may gently tap on a corner of the cover with a rubber mallet to break the seal. It will come off, but you may have to work it a bit. Whatever you do, do not force anything and risk bending a corner of the cover or denting it.
4. Scrape off the remaining gasket sealer once the cover is removed with either your putty knife or razor blade. Then using your sand paper, gently sand the mating surface for perfect smoothness. You should not have any gasket material or debris on the surface.
5. Cover the open area of the engine that is now exposed since you took the cover off with either paper towels or clean rags to be sure that no debris gets inside and then clean and sand that mating surface the same way as you did for the cover. Both mating surfaces should be very smooth and bump free.
6. Test fit the new gasket by placing it on the engine block to be sure it is the correct size and the holes line up perfectly.
7. Apply your gasket sealer on the engine mating surface approximately 1/8 inch thick covering the entire surface and wipe off any excess around the edges. Let the sealer set a few minutes and get slightly tacky and then place the gasket on, lining up the holes on the gasket with those on the engine block.
8. Apply a thinner layer of sealer on the top side of the gasket. Wipe off any excess sealer and let set a little bit to get tacky.
9. Remove your paper towels or rags you placed earlier to protect the engine parts. Place the valve cover onto the gasket trying to place it correctly the first time so you don't have to slide it around much and disturb the sealer.
10. Spray or soak the hold down bolts with WD-40 being sure there is no debris in the threads and then tighten them down according to your specific torque using a crisscross pattern rather then one side at a time.
11. Clean up any gasket material from the lower sides of the gasket area on the engine block and then run the car for a few minutes watching for any leaks. After the car is turned off you can run a dry paper towel just below the entire gasket area on the block to see if you picked up any oil, which would mean a leak. If this is the case it could mean one of three things. 1) The bolts are not all tightened down evenly according to torque. 2) The valve cover is warped and not setting flush. 3) There is debris or old gasket material either on the engine mating surface or on the valve cover. It is critical to have a baby smooth surface on both mating surfaces before installing the new gasket and sealer.

The Harley-Davidson Sportster primary chaincase houses the compensator sprocket, primary drive chain and clutch pack. Passages at the rear of the inner primary housing connect to the transmission to allow the transmission and primary drive to share a common lubricant. The operating temperatures within the primary and the high shear of the transmission gears break down the primary chaincase lubricant over time. Change the lubricant every 10,000 miles as part of the regularly scheduled maintenance.
Instructions
1. Operate the Sportster until it reaches the normal operating temperature. Park the bike on hard, level ground and have a helper hold the bike upright and level.
2. Place a clean shop rag over the left rider footpeg, if applicable, and the rear brake master cylinder. Grasp the top corners of the left side cover and gently pull it free from the upper mounting clips. Rotate the top of the cover out while sliding the bottom of the cover down on the lower mounting tab. Rest the cover on the rear master cylinder.
3. Squeeze the main fuse cover release latches and pull the main fuse holder from the cover. Grip the main fuse holder and pull the main fuse straight out.
4. Remove two screws holding the left rider footrest bracket to the frame by using a ratchet and Allen driver. Remove the rider footrest and bracket, as a unit, from the bike.
5. Remove the clutch inspection cover screws by using a ratchet and Allen driver. Remove the clutch inspection cover from the primary chaincase. Remove and discard the clutch inspection cover quad seal.
6. Place a drain pan under the primary chaincase drain plug located at the rear of the primary chaincase. Remove the drain plug by using a ratchet and socket. Discard the old drain plug gasket. Allow the fluid to drain fully.
7. Wipe the primary drain plug with a clean shop rag to remove residual oil. Apply a dab of Loctite Threadlocker 565 (white) to the threads of the drain plug. Install the drain plug and new drain plug gasket. Tighten the drain plug to 14 to 30 foot-pounds of torque by using a foot-pound torque wrench and socket.
8. Add primary chaincase lubricant through the clutch inspection cover opening until the lubricant level reaches the bottom of the clutch diaphragm spring. Add the lubricant slowly and allow the level to drop before adding more. Stop adding lubricant when the level stabilizes at the bottom of the clutch diaphragm spring.
9. Install a new clutch inspection cover quad ring into the groove in the primary chaincase cover and ensure that the quad ring is fully seated into the groove.
10. Install the clutch inspection cover and cover screws. Tighten the cover screws to 84 to 108 inch-pounds, in a cross pattern, by using an inch-pound torque wrench and Allen driver.
11. Install the rider footrest bracket and bracket screws. Tighten the bracket screws to 45 to 50 foot-pounds by using a foot-pound torque wrench and Allen driver.
12. Plug the main fuse into the main fuse folder. Push the main fuse holder into the protective cover until the cover release latches snap into place.
13. Lift and rotate the left side cover into position. Align the slots in the side cover with the retaining clips. Push the top of the cover in until it snaps securely into the clips.

The increased number of Japanese-made cruising bikes has caused an increase in competition for Harley-Davidson.
Harley-Davidson motorcycle pricing has been the topic of many debates throughout the years because in the past, many of their dealers would not even reveal the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) on a motorcycle. This is no longer the case, so people in the market for a Harley can more easily negotiate pricing when purchasing one of these made cruising bikes.
Instructions
Research
1. Go online to harley-davidson.com. Review the list of motorcycles and their prices. Select the motorcycle that you would like to own. Consider choosing two or three so that you have alternatives.
2. Review the list of dealers on their website that are near you. The more, the better. Be prepared to drive, if necessary.
3. Determine the maximum amount of money that you are prepared to put down on your purchase. Do this ahead of time so that you do not create a financial burden for yourself later.
Negotiation
4. Let the dealer know the exact bike in which you are interested. Include the exact color of the bike you want.
5. Review the price and compare it to the manufacturer's recommendation. Let the dealer know if there is an unfavorable disparity. Beware of the high price of dealer-added chrome. Ask the dealer to honor Harley's recommendations.
6. Consider offering to obtain your scheduled maintenance service at that facility, if possible. Offer to buy your helmets and leather from the same dealer. This will show the dealer that you plan to become a loyal customer.
7. Point out any disparities to the sales representative, such as a difference in color from your preference or that your favorite model is not available. Do not decline a final offer, but tell the dealer that you will think about it. Give him your phone number and be prepared to walk.
8. Consider traveling to another dealership to repeat the process. Play one dealer against the other to create a price war.

Changing the clutch in your Ford F-150 is relatively simple. You'll need at least 2 hours to change your clutch. You should change the clutch in your F-150 about every 100,000 miles. You may need to do this more often if the clutch plate shows wear or the clutch fails completely.
Instructions
Remove the Old Clutch
1. Remove the exterior parts (those that are not in the engine compartment) to include the floor shifter inside the cab of your F-150 and the exhaust pipe.
2. Remove interior parts--those parts that are under the hood. This includes the starter, which is attached to the transmission bell-housing. Disconnect the drive-shaft of your F-150 and the hose for your truck's hydraulic slave cylinder.
3. Remove the transmission from your F-150. Using a metric socket set, undo the transmission cross-member and bolts, which will allow you to remove the transmission from the truck. You should have plenty of room to work underneath your F-150, as these are tall trucks. In some cases, especially if your truck is lowered, consider using a lift or a jack to raise your truck off the ground for easy access to all components.
4. Remove the pressure plate and the worn clutch disk from the transmission.
5. Inspect the flywheel. If the clutch flywheel shows significant amounts of wear or is damaged in any way, you should replace it. Reusing a damaged flywheel can cause your new clutch to fail.
Install the New Clutch
6. Install your new clutch disk and pressure plate. You'll need to use the clutch alignment tool, which should come as part of your clutch kit. If your clutch kit doesn't include this tool, you can buy it at an auto parts store or any Ford dealership.
7. Replace the transmission back into your F-150. Remember to reconnect the transmission cross-member and all bolts.
8. Reconnect all interior parts--including the starter, drive-shaft and the hose for the hydraulic slave cylinder. Don't forget to bleed the slave cylinder when you attach the hose.
9. Reconnect the exterior parts, which includes the exhaust pipe and the gearshift inside the cab.
10. Drive your F-150 slowly in a controlled environment. This will ensure that the new clutch is installed properly and is in good working condition.

Digital photographs are made up of pixels, which are tiny squares of color. Pixels are so small that they blend together and we do not see them as squares, but when you enlarge a photo, the individual pixels become obviously visible. The image turns into a mosaic of colored tiles. By opening the image in an application such as Photoshop and resampling it at a larger size, you will avoid pixelating the photo. The application mechanically adds pixels to the image by averaging the existing pixels and adding neighboring pixels of similar color. If you do not have graphics software, free online applications are available and will give similar results.
Instructions
1. Open the photo in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or a similar graphics program that resizes images.
2. Click "Image Size" or "Resize Image" in the drop-down menu under "Image."
3. Check boxes next to "Constrain Proportions" and "Resample Image."
4. Under "Pixel Dimension," change the number of pixels next to "Width" or "Height." The other dimension will automatically change to maintain the proper height-to-width ratio. If you are unfamiliar with using pixels as a unit of measure, simple multiply the existing number by however much you wish to increase the size of the image.
5. Click "OK" and save the image. Now you can print the image or enlarge it on your monitor without pixelating.

Proposing marriage is a big step, as it is the beginning of spending the rest of your life with the person you love. Shopping for an engagement ring, however, can be a sobering experience. Most jewelry salespeople will want to convince you that you need the biggest diamond ring that sparkles under all their specially placed lights. But do you really need to spend a year's salary on an engagement ring? No, you don't. It can be easy to get caught up in the excitement of the pending proposal and spend more than what your budget really dictates, but there are ways to find a beautiful engagement ring that you won't have to pay off for the next five years.
Instructions
1. Determine how much you can afford to spend, so that you don't have to pay for any part of the ring with credit. Chances are, you will be purchasing a decent amount of jewelry for your significant other over the coming year, so there is no need to spend an exorbitant amount on the engagement ring. If your budget is really tight, you may even plan on replacing the ring on your first wedding anniversary, or when the two of you are in a better financial situation. So remember that this ring isn't necessarily the be-all and end-all.
2. Find out how your fiancee feels about nontraditional engagement rings that feature something other than diamonds. There are many different materials out there when it comes to rings, including pearls, gemstones and lab-made stones that closely resemble diamonds. Your significant other likely knows your financial situation, and may be more open to the idea than you think.
3. If you decide to stick with a diamond, go with a size you can afford. Not everyone wants a 2-carat diamond ring, especially those who are not used to wearing jewelry. The truth is, the larger diamond rings with several side stones may look beautiful in the case, but the real test comes when it is on her finger, and she has to imagine what it would be like to carry around such a large stone--all day, every day.
4. Jewelry stores, just like any other type of store, put items on sale and clearance as the style of engagement rings changes. If you are willing to invest some time shopping around for a sale or clearance ring, you may just find one you never thought you would be able to afford, but now now can.
5. Shop around online for an engagement ring that is slightly used. Some engagements just don't last, meaning that someone else's misfortune may just be your golden opportunity. Check out websites like eBay for an engagement ring that someone no long needs or wants and is within your budget.

Harley-Davidson produced its first motorcycle in 1903.
Harley-Davidson motorcycles have been in production since the early 1900s. Throughout the decades, Harley-Davidson has become a well-known brand --- especially among motorcycle enthusiasts. In addition to the company itself, many stores across the country are dedicated to selling specialized Harley-Davidson memorabilia, gear, accessories and tools. While quite a few tools are on the market, several tool kits offer mechanics a combination of tools from which to choose from.
All-in-One Folding Tool
The All-in-One Folding Tool, produced by Harley-Davidson, features tools that help mechanics do basic service repairs and adjustments while away from the shop, such as on a road trip. The tools fold away into a kit that has a carrying handle for portability. Included in the kit are star bits, hex bits, screwdriver bits and a specialized screwdriver and wrenches. The package also comes equipped with the Harley-Davidson logo. The All-in-One Folding Tool works on most Harley-Davidson models produced in 2002 or later. It costs $39.95 as of December 2010.
The Harley Davidson Daytona Sensors Diagnostic Scan Tool helps you detect mechanical issues quickly in a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The sensor-based tool kit helps mechanics diagnose engine problems that may affect the engine-control, instrument, turn-signal and security modules, and then helps troubleshoot and clear the problem. You must plug the tool into a computer with a processor of at least 300 megahertz, Microsoft Windows 98 or higher and a CD-ROM drive. The tool costs $199 as of December 2010.
Mechanics can often drop or lose small accessories such as nuts and bolts. The Screamin' Eagle Nut Grabber Lighted Pick-Up Tool Kit can make a mechanic's job easier by providing pick-up tools that glow in dimly lit areas. The tool kit includes a lighted claw tool that features a 22-inch reach arm and gripping claws to pick up small parts that weigh up to 5 lbs. Also included in the kit is a magnetic flashlight that features a 20-inch telescopic arm that can grasp items weighing up to 3 lbs. Each tool includes extra lighting to help find items. The Screamin' Eagle Nut Grabber Lighted Pick-Up Tool Kit, produced by Harley-Davidson, costs $39.95 as of December 2010.

Repair your silver mag wheels to give them their original look.
Mag wheels, also known as alloy wheels, show damage due to their shiny, silver color. If the paint on your wheels is damaged or peeling, you can repaint the wheels yourself instead of purchasing new rims. For best results, use a shade of silver paint that matches your wheels exactly. If you can't find this shade of silver, paint all of your vehicle's wheels, so that they still match. If mismatching wheels don't bother you, paint only the damaged areas.
Instructions
1. Wipe the mag wheel with a warm, soapy towel. Remove any grime or dirt. Wipe the wheel with a damp towel to rinse it. Dry using a clean towel.
2. Place painter's tape over any area's surrounding the wheel that you do not want damaged. Place a tarp on the ground, below the wheel.
3. Slide a thin layer of spot putty over the area of paint you wish to repair. Allow it to harden for about 10 minutes.
4. Sand the area with putty, using a medium-grit sandpaper in circular motions. Avoid sanding any non-damaged areas.
5. Hold a can of scratch primer about eight inches away from the wheel. Press the trigger and apply primer to the damaged area. Allow the primer to dry for about two hours.
6. Apply a second coat of primer to the wheel. Allow it to dry for 2 to 3 hours.
7. Hold the can of silver spray paint about eight inches away from the wheel. Pull the trigger and move the paint over the wheel. Allow this layer to dry for about one hour. Apply a second coat of silver paint.

You'll look great on a Harley no matter what color you choose.
Harley Davidson is one of the most popular and most lucrative motorcycle companies in the world. In 1999 it used 10 different colors for its motorcycles. Each color was specifically designed for Harley Davidson motorcycles and each gives the motorcycle an outstanding look and feel.
Blues
In 1999 Harley Davidson used two blue colors for its motorcycles. Cobalt Blue Pearlcoat 191058 is a cool, slightly desaturated blue. The other blue color Harley Davidson used in 1999 is the Sinister Blue Pearl 190524 -- a deep blue color.
Reds
There were two red colors used on Harleys in 1999, Lazer Red Pearl 75129 and Scarlet Red 72095. The Lazer Red color is a sharp red tone. The Scarlet Red color is not as pronounced as the Lazer Red, but it is infused with some orange tones.
Other Colors
Besides red and blue, Harley Davidson used six other colors on its motorcycles in 1999. Aztec Orange Pearlcoat 61889 is a subdued orange color close to matching a desert stone. As its name implies, Birch White 90303 matches the color of a birch tree. That is to say a dull white color, which is different than the brighter Diamond Ice Pearlcoat 37056 shade of white that Harley used in 1999. The only green color Harley used that year was the Mystique Green 47981, a light shade of green. Nugget Yellow 83735 is a flat shade of yellow. Finally, Violet Pearl 52111 was also used by Harley that year and is a dark purple color.
Golf carts aren't just for golf. As the population ages, an increasing number of people are using golf carts for everyday errands. A number of communities, especially in the southeastern United States, have created networks of golf cart trails. Even though golf carts are relatively simple methods of transportation, they occasionally need repair. It's important to know the type of golf cart and year of manufacture to obtain the proper replacement parts for your golf cart.
Instructions
Club Car
1. Locate the serial number plate by looking on the I-beam underneath the driver's seat for models made between 1975 and 1980. The first two digits of the serial number generally show the year of manufacture.
2. Check underneath the dash on the passenger side if you can't find a serial number plate underneath the driver's seat. The newer models, made between 1981 and present, will usually have two foot pedals; older models have three. Like the older models, the first two digits on the serial number plate will indicate the year manufactured.
3. Write down the serial number and contact the company for more information about the model of golf cart.
E-Z-Go
4. Look under the driver's seat for the serial number of models made before 1976. Contact the company for more information, since the serial number doesn't contain any information about the model or year it was manufactured.
5. Find the serial number under the dash, below the glove box, for the Marathon model, made between 1976 and 1993. The last two numbers indicate the year of manufacture.
6. Look in the glove box on the passenger side for the Medalist and TXT models, made between 1994 and 2002. The last two digits of the serial number show the year that the golf cart was made.
7. Flip the black plastic access panel behind the seat to find the serial number of the TXT model, made from 2003 to present. The serial number will be on a black plastic plate glued to the frame. The last two digits indicate the year manufactured.
Yamaha
8. Examine the frame below the rear bumper for G1 and early G2 models. Find the corresponding serial number and year of manufacture from the Yamaha website under Parts and Service.
9. Tilt the seat cover back to find the serial number for G2 later models, G8 and G9 designs. Find the corresponding serial number and year of manufacture from the Yamaha website.
10. Look underneath the glove box on the driver's side or underneath the seat for G14, G16, G19 or G22 models. Find the corresponding serial number and year of manufacture from the Yamaha website.
Harley-Davidson
11. Lift the body of the cart up to expose the chassis.
12. Look on the steel frame on the driver's side, slightly above the rear tire, to locate the serial number.
13. Contact Harley-Davidson for more information about the model and year of manufacture for your golf cart, using the serial number.

The Street Glide FLHX is a motorcycle first produced by Harley-Davidson in 2005. The FLHX uses Harley's TC88 engine. One of the more notable of the FLHX features is the fork mounted "bat wing" fairing. The bat wing fairing first appeared on other Harley-Davidson motorcycles, starting in 1969. It was designed by Harley-Davidson's Chief Styling Officer, Willie G. Davidson.
Instructions
1. Locate the motorcycle's fuse box. Remove the MAXI fuse. This is the largest fuse so it is easy to spot. Loosen the bolts located just below the windshield at the top of the front fairing. Do not remove the bolts completely. Remove the bolts on the inner fairing. Remove the previously loosened bolts. Take care not to let the outer fairing fall when the bolts are removed. Disconnect the headlight. Remove the outer fairing and set it aside.
2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the unlock/off position. Turn the front forks of the motorcycle until they hit the left fork stop. Turn the ignition knob to fork lock. Press and hold the release button located on the bottom left of the ignition knob. Push the key down. Turn the key counterclockwise until you feel the ignition knob release. Remove the ignition knob by lifting up. Remove the spring, nut, collar and spacer from beneath the ignition knob. Remove the switch position plate. Remove the fairing cap.
3. Insert a screwdriver into the space where the ignition knob was. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise until it makes a clicking sound. This should fully lock the forks. If it becomes necessary to unlock the forks, reinsert the screwdriver and turn in a clockwise direction.
4. Disconnect both turn signals. The connections are located just under the speakers. Label the wires left and right. Unbolt and remove the turn signals. Unbolt both bolts holding the chrome skirt to the inner fairing. Remove the chrome skirt.
5. Remove the rubber boot from the clutch cable adjuster. Loosen the locknut and push it away from the cable adjuster. Remove the retaining ring from the pivot pin groove, located at the bottom of the bracket for the clutch lever. Remove the pivot pin. Unscrew the handlebar clamp from the clutch lever bracket. Remove the clutch lever. Take out the anchor pin from the clutch lever. Unhook the clutch cable eyelet from the clutch lever. Push the clutch cable through the inner fairing to the front of the bike.
6. Label all wires leading to gauges. Disconnect the wires from the gauges one at a time. Unscrew and remove each gauge after disconnecting the appropriate wire. Remove the cigarette lighter from its socket. Hold the cigarette lighter socket to keep it from spinning. Unscrew the cigarette lighter's outer shell and remove the socket from the fairing. Disconnect the speakers. Remove the three bolts holding each speaker on. Remove the speakers.
7. Remove the rubber boot from the odometer reset button. Pull the odometer reset button out. Unscrew the inner fairing from the fairing bracket. Spread apart the inner fairing and fairing bracket to free them from the threaded rods that attach them to the lower fork bracket. Pull the inner fairing toward the rear of the motorcycle. Pull the fairing bracket towards the front of the bike at the same time. This will cause them to separate, freeing the inner fairing.

The 1997 Harley-Davidson Sportsters celebrate the 40th anniversary of the model.
In 1997, Harley-Davidson set a new overhead-valve engine in a narrow, nimble frame and the Sportster legend was born. The best-selling model of the line, the Sportster emerged from the relatively dark ages of the 1950s with the introduction of the Evolution motor in 1986 and burst into the future, its raw power mesmerizing Harley performance acolytes everywhere. Modified and refined ever further in the ensuing years, the 40th anniversary 1997 XLCH Sportster 1200 Sport and XL Sportster 1200 Custom both feature freer-breathing pipes for a massive power boost, vastly improved suspension and a more generous-capacity, travel-friendly fuel tank.
XL Sportster 1200 Sport
Characterized by its raw, understated good looks and power, the 1997 XL Sportster 1200 Sport features a redesigned two-piece seat which converts easily into a solo seat. At the heart of this agile motorcycle, is a 1,200cc Evolution engine synchronized with a five-speed transmission that provides 71 ft.-lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpm. With a 28.9-inch seat height, the Sport is higher than the Custom. Its rigid frame is 87.6 inches long with a wheelbase of 60.2 inches and ground clearance of 6.7 inches. The exhaust features staggered shorty duals.
True to its name, the Sport is the epitome of a high-performance motorcycle, featuring cartridge-type suspension units with multi-spring reload, and compression and reload damping adjustments. The rear shocks feature a remote nitrogen reservoir to help keep the oil from overheating under hard use. The reservoir's bladder separates the gas from the oil to prevent aeration. The forks have a multi-position adjustable rebound and compression damper which are velocity-sensitive and provide incremental damping as movement increases.
The Sport features a dual-disc front brake with two-piece floating brake rotors, significantly reducing lever pressure. The combination of sticky Dunlop K591 Elite Sport tires, high-performance braking system and innovative suspension enhance the overall handling and facilitate high cornering speeds.
Additional Sport Specs
The Sport's cockpit features an electronic speedometer with odometer, resettable trip meter and a tachometer. The Sportster 1200 Sport is a relatively lightweight motorcycle with a dry weight of only 497 lbs. Fuel economy is 52 highway miles per gallon and 45 city mpg with a 3.3-gallon fuel capacity, and oil capacity of 3 quarts.
1997 Sportster 1200 Custom
Powered by a 1,200cc Evolution engine that provides 71.0 ft.-lbs. of torque at 4,000 rpm., the lavishly-finished Custom is an easy-to-handle ride with superb maneuverability; its five-speed transmission provides quick acceleration from all speeds. The Custom's rigid frame is 87.25 inches long and with its relatively low seat height of 27.12 inches and ground clearance of only 4.5 inches, the Custom is an ideal choice for riders of shorter stature and any rider who likes a low-profile ride. Primary drive is triple-row chain and the Custom has a single-disc front brake and slotted-disc rear wheel. The exhaust features staggered shorty duals.
While the Custom does not have as many high-performance features as its Sport sibling, unprecedented styling sets it apart from all of the other Sportster models. From the chrome and black engine treatment and 21-inch laced front wheel to the chrome handlebar clamp and riser combined with a bottom-mount headlamp, the Custom is easily the most glamorous Sportster family member.
Additional Custom Specs
The Custom features an electronic speedometer with odometer and resettable trip meter. The relatively lightweight motorcycle is 490 lbs. dry weight, balanced by a low center of gravity that increases the ease and quality of handling. Fuel economy is 52 highway mpg and 45 city miles per gallon. Fuel capacity is 3.3 gallons; oil capacity is 3 quarts.
Organizing a motorcycle charity ride requires some hard work and a lot of time to get everything organized and sponsor sheets passed around. Motorcycle riders regularly participate in many charity rides throughout the country. Some charity rides are for a specific organization and some are for individuals that may have cancer or another health issues and need help. The benefit rides and charity rides are all done the same way. It is important to have as many motorcycles participating as possible.
Instructions
1. Plan the charity ride at least three to six months ahead of time. Some organizers will want to start planning a year ahead of time if the motorcycles charity ride is to be a huge event. This allows for enough advertising time and planning. Decide how the event will raise money. The most common way is with pledge sheets for so much money per mile rode. Plan the party after the ride. This is usually open to the public. It can be a brat fry and entertainment.
2. Set the course for the motorcycle charity ride. Map the course out so that every rider will have a map to follow with designated stops as well. Each stop will require the establishment to sign a sheet that says the rider was there. Most motorcycle charity rides send people to taverns or other dining or drinking establishments.
3. Print up pledge sheets for all entrants in the motorcycle charity ride. These should be given out to the participants at least two months ahead of time. This gives everyone enough time to get pledges. The pledge sheets need to have a place for name, phone, address and amount of pledge per mile or a donation payment.
4. Schedule a meeting place that is large enough to accommodate all the bike riders. This will be the start and finish point of the charity ride. This is where you will have drinks, food and entertainment for the riders who ride. This helps raise more money, especially if the general public attends.
5. Give every rider a map and send him on his way at the given time. As the ride nears the end, have enough people tending to the check in point so that every rider can be accounted for and the signature sheets can be checked.
6. Most riders will have the money collected before hand, but there may be some payments that need to be collected through the mail. Send out invoices for the amount of money owed. This is done by taking the pledge amount times the miles rode.

If your Ultra is fuel injected ,you may need one of these.
Harley Ultra may refer to several motorcycles including the Tourglide Ultra equipped with an Evolution engine and the Tri Glide Ultra and Electra Glide Ultras with the Twin Cam engine. The solution to your problem is the same no matter what Ultra you ride. One of five simple-to-fix things is probably wrong. The most likely problem is your idling speed is set too low. It is also possible that your fuel-air mixture is set too lean, your plugs are fouled, your spark plug wires are loose or defective or that your original equipment vacuum petcock is defective.
Instructions
1. Diagnose all engine problems by first reading your spark plugs. Access the spark plugs on the left side of your motorcycle. Remove both front and back spark plugs with a spark plug socket and a socket wrench and examine them. If the electrodes are intact and light gray to pale tan, your fuel-air mixture is fine. Reinstall your old plugs. If the electrodes are visibly corroded, your fuel-air mixture is too lean. Replace the old plugs with new ones. If your plugs are visibly sooty, your engine is running too cold or too rich, because you are making too many short trips or because your fuel-air mixture has too much gasoline and not enough air. Replace the plugs with new ones.
2. Inspect your spark plug wires and their connections to the coil and your spark plugs. Plug wires are not moving parts, so they do not usually wear out. If you see visible signs of wear, though, replace them.
3. Adjust the idling speed on a carbureted Ultra by using a small, flat-head screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw on top of the carburetor by the throttle cam. If you have trouble finding the throttle cam, stare at your carburetor while you twist your throttle. It is the part that moves. Adjust the fuel-air mixture on a carbureted Ultra by turning the fuel-air mixture screw on the bottom of your carburetor. The correct adjustment should be between two-and-an-eighth or two-and-a-quarter turns out.
4. Adjust both the idling speed and fuel-air mixture on a fuel-injected Ultra by using a Screaming Eagle Race Tuner, which is usually called a SERT, or equivalent, and a laptop computer. The SERT comes with software you install on your computer and cables that connect your laptop to a pigtail connection next to the electronic control module behind the side cover. Remove the seat screw behind the seat with an Allen wrench, then remove the seat to gain access to this pigtail connection.

If you want to install custom themes, backgrounds or images on your iPod Touch, you'll need to make a few adjustments to the device. You will need to "jailbreak" the iPod before you can customize the device. This is the only way to load third-party applications. Installing third-party applications may void Apple's warranty for the device.
Instructions
1. Open the main menu on your iPod Touch and select the "Installer" icon. Scroll through the menu items in the "Categories" screen. Select "Customize."
2. Click "Install" from the top right portion of the next screen, then click "Install" again on the pop-up icon that appears. After the application downloads to your iPod, you'll see the "Categories" screen.
3. Scroll through the "Categories" screen and select "Themes Customize." This will take you to the "Packages" screen.
4. Click on the first item that has the words "Apple" or "Image" in the title, then click "Install." Click "Install" again. Repeat this process for all of the items that say "Apple" or "Image." These are the image and icons that you will be able to use to customize your iPod Touch.
5. Open the "Customize" application from the main menu after your iPod Touch automatically restarts. Touch the "Customize" icon on the next screen several times until the application opens.
6. Select "Dock Background" to view the various custom backgrounds you can use. When you find one you like, click its image and select "OK."

The Norton Manx is one of the most well-known bikes produced by the British motorcycle company. As of late 2010, original Manx bikes fetched large prices at auctions. In 2006, a record was set when a 1961 Manx 500 sold at auction for $61,000. The Manx 500 is also known as the 30M, and its fame is certainly due in part to the engine.
Engine Design
The Norton Manx Engine's most famous iteration was the Manx Norton 500. This engine became a racing legend during the 1950s. There was also a smaller Manx engine in a 350 cc size in addition to the 500cc engine. The Manx was a single cylinder engine design. It utilized a four-stroke mechanism. The engine underwent a few changes during its life. The original Manx had a long stroke of 79 mm-by-100mm but was reduced over time throughout the '50s. By 1957, the stroke was instead 86.1mm-by-85.6mm. The engine featured an overhead cam design.
Engine Performance
The performance of the Norton Manx engine, especially when combined with the "featherbed" frame innovations of 1950, made a mark on the race world. The engine produced approximately 50 bhp at 7200 RPM. The bike has reached top speeds of 140 mph. The 350 engine was able to put out 36 bhp at 8000 RPM.
Other Specifications
The Norton Manx featured a four speed gearbox. The engine was air cooled and used a bevel gear shaft. The engine was modified just enough to fit into a newly styled frame that was developed in 1950 known as the "featherbed" frame. It was this new frame design created by the Mcandless Brothers combined with the Manx engine that made it the winner at the Isle of Man TT 500cc class race in 1950, the first year it was entered. The Isle of Man TT Hall of Fame included members like Geoff Duke and Geoff McIntyre, who both raced with Norton during the Manx years. The fuel supply was provided from a 25-litre tank.
Check to see what kind of lock your saddlebag accommodates.
Harley-Davidson saddlebags are a good home for important documents. Many Harley saddlebags contain built-in locks, though not all do. With a few quick tools, however, you can install a lock onto a saddlebag that doesn't have a built-in lock. And if your lock is broken, a replacement lock is much more affordable than buying another saddlebag. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Locate the area where you want to install the lock. It should be positioned just above the opening on the saddlebag. Line up the lock so you can see how far down the lock clasp will go when the lock is engaged. It needs to go deep enough to withstand force and to keep the saddlebag securely locked. Mark where you want the lock positioned.
2. Place the lock on the marked position. Use a marker to draw out the diameter of the hole you need to cut.
3. Insert the correct drill bit onto the marked hole and engage the tool. Continue drilling until the hole is completely bored.
4. Insert the lock into the hole so that the face of the key, where the key is inserted, is facing outwards and the locking mechanism is inside the saddlebag. You might have to push the lock face through the hole from inside the saddlebag, as the locking mechanism won't fit through the hole.
5. Test to ensure the lock is snug and fit. Drill screws in the side of the lock to secure it to the saddlebag cover. Test out the lock with the key to make sure it is correctly installed.
Memorial tattoos are a very personal and permanent way to commemorate the life of someone special. A lot of thought and design goes into making it special; as with any tattoo, it will be etched forever on the skin and it needs to be nearly perfect. There are several ways to design a memorial tattoo; a tattoo artist can help with planning and design.
Portrait Tattoos
Portrait tattoos ink a likeness of a person on to the skin, usually drawn from a favorite photo. This is arguably the most personal memorial tattoo because it allows the wearer to always see their loved one's face. This is also one of the hardest tattoos to pull off. Tattoo ink is a tricky medium that requires careful application when shading and drawing lines; there is no room for error. A second-rate tattoo artist can easily botch a face and make it unrecognizable or, even worse, a gruesome caricature of the deceased. Also, time will take its toll on the skin and the tattoo will fade and stretch; colors will fade unless they are redone.
Symbolic Tattoos
Symbolic memorials allow a person to commemorate a life without the risk of a weird face on their arm. The tattoo bearer picks something that symbolizes the life of their loved one. A child, for example, might be represented by a teddy bear or a favorite toy; a wife by a butterfly or rose; a husband fond of hunting could be represented by a deer head. If there's no specific symbol that represents a person, pick a special place that you enjoyed together. It could be the site of a marriage proposal or an unforgettable vacation.
Word Tattoos
Words are probably the cheapest and easiest memorial tattoos. They don't require expensive color ink and the only risk is a misspelled word. The most basic would be similar to a tombstone: the person's name and their birth and death years. Compliment the tattoo with a phrase such as "in loving memory" or "you'll always be missed." It doesn't have to be that simple, though. Tattoo a saying or catch-phrase that the deceased liked to use or a famous saying that sums up the deceased's personality.

This motorcycle carburetor is behind the round, air cleaner cover.
Motorcycle carburetors take in air and mix it with fuel. Numerous factors can throw a motorcycle carburetor out of tune. Typically, motorcycle carburetors are shaken out of tune by vibration. Manufacturers like Mikuni, Keihin and S & S sell original equipment and aftermarket carburetors for numerous motorcycles. Details vary but tuning principles are the same for all these devices. Here, specifically, is tune the carburetor Harley-Davidson has used since 1989.
Instructions
1. Remove the air cleaner cover with an Allen wrench. Loosen the air cleaner with a Torx wrench.
2. Disconnect the two breather tubes from the top of the air cleaner with your hands. Remove the air cleaner. Remove the air cleaner backing plate with a socket wrench.
3. Put the motorcycle in neutral. Start the motorcycle and let it run until the engine is hot. Leave the engine running during the following procedures.
4. Spray short bursts of aerosol carburetor cleaner into the venturi (the open mouth) of the carburetor. Allow the engine to stumble and recover. Then repeat.
5. Turn the idle speed adjuster screw next to the throttle cam with a flat head screwdriver until the engine idles smoothly without stumbling at the lowest possible engine revolutions per minute. Turn the screw clockwise to reduce idle speed and counterclockwise to increase idle speed.
6. Turn the low speed, fuel-air mixture screw on the bottom of the carburetor 1/8 clockwise. Wait five seconds for the idle to stabilize.
7. Continue to turn the low-speed screw clockwise 1/8 turn at a time with a five-second pause between turns until the engine stumbles and drops revolutions per minute. When the engine stumbles, turn the low-speed screw counterclockwise 1/8 turn.
8. Wait five seconds, then open the throttle. The engine should idle cleanly and respond without stumbling when you open the throttle.
9. Repeat adjustments to the idle speed adjuster screw and the low-speed, fuel-air mixture screw as needed until the engine idles cleanly at low speed and responds without stumbling when you open the throttle.
10. Turn off the motorcycle. Reinstall the air cleaner backing plate, the air cleaner, the breather tubes and the air cleaner cover.

Harley Davidson may be the most prestigious of motorcycle manufacturers, their vintage models being no exception. Harley Davidson has been making their fine motorcycles with distinct sound and classic design since 1903. With a number of vintage models available, you are bound to find the perfect Harley bike for you.
Instructions
1. Visit your local Harley Davidson dealership. Harley dealers often carry restored vintage models available for purchase from the showroom floor. Dealerships often have restoration specialists onsite as well, so ask them about purchasing an older model to restore yourself or have restored especially for you.
2. Ask your local Harley dealer for notices of vintage bike sales. Many people looking to sell their vintage bikes will make their local Harley shop their first stop for placing an advertisement, so it can be a great place to begin your search. The expertise of the shop's team can also help you determine the quality of the bike as well as the accuracy of the price.
3. Search online for vintage Harley specialists and sales. Collectors often search far and wide for their perfect bike, so don't limit yourself to your own local area. The vintage bike of your dreams may be waiting in another state or even another country.
4. Participate in biker rallies such as the famous Sturgis run. Many motorcycle enthusiasts find these events the perfect opportunity to buy and sell motorcycles. Many biker rallies will have a motorcycle auction or swap meet towards the conclusion of the event, so be sure to ask for a rally program when you pay the entrance fee. Arrive early to inspect your buying options and take the opportunity to speak with owners of vintage Harley Davidsons.
5. Search trade magazines and want ads for vintage Harley Davidson motorcycles. If you are buying from a private owner, be sure to investigate as much as possible about the particular model and inspect the bike thoroughly for authenticity and restoration accuracy. Through the years many bikes have been modified or poorly restored, so make sure you are purchasing a quality vintage motorcycle.
6. Place a want ad in Motorcycle Trader and your local newspaper, especially if you have your mind set on a particular year and model. When looking for the perfect vintage Harley Davidson, you will have to have patience. Don't jump into a purchase or you may find yourself with a beautiful, yet expensive restoration project.
